Players play well, value goes up or stays the same. Players don't play well, value goes down. Generally we are buying players at peak or high value, because strangely enough they are playing well, hence our interest.

Matri and Quag were at no point in their careers 18m players. It was our situation that forced the price to inflate rather thsn the player's performances IMO.

In fact both of them have shown about the same level of ability, if not more, at their time at the club, but we will not get anywhere close to the price that we paid for them.

So what do you think of Marotta so far? I remember you saying last year when Conte was brought how we are destined for another failure. Have you changed your opinion? For me personally he is doing a great job. Of course there will always be some unsuccessful transfer but Moggi also had fair share of mistakes: O'neil, Paramatti, Esneider, Henry... What I like about this guy is that he is clearly working 24/7, modest guy and with him I think we'll be the force we were prior to calciopoli. In two years he reconstructed the whole team and from an average squad crated a CL contender.

For the record we didn't pay €18m for Quagliarella, we paid €15m. Quagliarella went for €18m to Napoli from Udinese. So it's more to do with form players demanding bigger fees than 'our situation'. That we bought Matri in January was of course an issue, but then he was certainly required and right on form.

I don't Quagliarella or Matri have improved their standing with Juve. Matri has gone down because of his barren spell, and Quagliarella remains much the same; hit and miss, although now 29 instead of 27.
