Pretty much how I see the league also, Red. The two milanese clubs have better squads, and more established serie A coaches. Its a shame about Gasperini, because i hate Inter, but have always liked him...Lazio seem to be weaker already than last season, and I doubt they will be able to repeat the trick. Roma? Money to burn but a far from experienced manager, and a team that needs a fair amount of work (like us)...Udinese without sanchez?? Huge loss, 30% of the offensive success gone in a flash.

Which leaves Napoli...who do not seem weaker. But they may well focus more energies onto the champions league.

If we get some cohesion, our new players bed in as well and as quickly as can be hoped, and conte can manage to instill some of the grinta he is renowned for, it could be an exciting fight against Cavani and his buddies...for 3rd.
On what basis are you saying Lazio will be weaker?

They over-achieved a bit last season, so even if they had done nothing they may have dropped a bit.

As things stand, you'd think that they might have a few more goals in them having got a couple of decent strikers, but may concede a few more after losing Lichtsteiner and Muslera.

Sign Lugano/Alex and Vargas/Bastos and this will be a great mercato.
Great is going a bit far, but a lot of the holes in the Juve squad would have been plugged with good players.

So as things stand right now you believe juve will finish 4th or higher?
Right now, all you can say is that Juve look like having, on paper, the fourth best team/squad in the league.

Whether Conte can get the best of the the team to ensure they finish as high as they should is another matter.

There are also other factors such as as injuries and stuff that can't be calculated just now.

Why the hell would we want 4th place? We should aim for Scudetto, but since we've dropped our ambitions we should atleast go for 3rd.

As we stand right now, our mercato is not over and we will probably sign a quality LW and a CB(Lugano/Alex).

At the moment, we have the 4th best squad in Serie A. With a quality LW and CB, we would be at least on par with Napoli for 3rd.

His work so far was horrendous as expected. Guy is living is an imaginary world. In his world, Mirko Vucinic is in same class with Agüero, Diego Lugano is a world class cb who can make us stronger. But in reality, when he was out of contract, he begged Italian clubs to sign him for 3 months before returning Fenerbahce again.

Technically, we are already on Par with them. IMO their last season was a fluke, no way they will be able to do it again. I'm more worried about Roma than Napoli.

there way too many factors right now to consider. mercato is not done yet, conte is still a question mark and we don't know how some of our signings (vidal, vucinic) and players (Krasic, Matri) will do.
it's actually not marottas task to integrate players or help them regain top match fitness, so you should actually be able to rate his work by the players he brought in and not on injuries or form flukes that probably happen to these players because nobody can foresee them!

i am extremely happy to have gotten vucinic instead of aguero or rossi, just because he is cheaper and we now should have at least enough funds to spend for the left wing

Wiith all these signings Milan/Inter/Napoli are still better than us.
We need more quality players.
We need one player, thats it. Guys like Krasic, Vucinic, Matri, Vidal and Pirlo are great to have in a winning team cuz they're all way above average instead of filling the team with shit players like Pepe. Only thing we need right now is what they like to call a "franchise player" in american sports.

Rossi is not a "franchise player".
