I don't give a shit about those promises, he's building a strong squad.
Yeah with CL and 1-3 star players the season after this.

could be any of these guys possibly:

FWD: Rossi, Dzeko, Gomez
MID: Hazard, Silva, Navas, Ribery, Nani, Mata, Banega, Nasri, Modric, Diarra
DEF: Sakho, Cissokho, Ivanovic

If all bold players come that would be massive :tuttosport:

I'm reading this 'promised champions' a lot. Firstly, you don't promise in football, because there are zero guarantees.

'Champions' in the Italian sense does not particularly mean Agüero, Neymar and Tevez, for example. Those come under the almost equally bandied about phrase 'top player'. For instance in some sources the trio of Beck, Mascherano and Bastos were classed as three champions. I'm pretty sure that Marotta will also claim Vidal, Vucinic, +1 (also maybe Pirlo) as 'champions'.

For those who expected three world class players, well...

So far I'll go along with it being a good mercato, although we seem to be stocking up massively on attacking players and it wouldn't surprise me to see Marotta make a 'dream' move for his 'top player' Rossi. He hasn't sign a real headline grabber yet, and I hope he doesn't if we bring in Vucinic, we need a LW and DC next.

And the fact that you are a member of The Society doesn't validate your point.

I take my position very seriously.

But I do think terminology and translation is a problem, on top of delusion. We could maybe have snatched one big star this summer but we really need to be a CL team.

I don't think we are any better off than we were last season. We need more talent up front.

I agree that we won't be able to land anyone of worth until next summer ONLY IF we qualify for CL :xfingers:

Until then we will have to be content with what we can get because as I've said, what star player would want to play for a non-CL competing club? But that doesn't excuse the man from making bold claims like he did which does open himself up for further criticism.

It was an unnecessary comment to make in the end.

Isn't that one of marotta's biggest failures? Not getting you europe?

Yes, and what is he supposed to do about it this summer, ask to replay the 2010-11 season? It's the same whoever comes in.
He is supposed to do a better job. Looking at the transfers already made you have to admit there is no way you will finish ahead of Milan,Inter,Lazio or Napoli.

Are you content with missing out on CL again?

What exactly has Lazio done so far this summer to make one think that they are going to be any better, or even moreso, remain at the level that they were last year?

Napoli has a chance, but they are going to be competing in the CL this year, and their squad depth is not where it should be to take them very far.

Udinese and Roma are the two teams who will most likely drop from last year's standings, in my opinion.

And I'm not saying this to stand up for Marotta or anything like that. I'm looking at the four teams aside from Milan and Inter and see what they have done to improve themselves, and to be quite honest, with the exception of Inler going to napoli, I don't see how the other three squads have improved themselves at all

I dunno I think we are a little better than last summer. The additions of Licht, Vidal, Vucinic are definate upgrades. Not but a far stretch but they are upgrades.

If no CL this year I'd problably say Beppe is out or has one more summer left in him.

That's just your opinion, and pretty baseless I'd say. Although I do appreciate a Liverpool fan trolling Beppe hard every topic ;)

So as things stand right now you believe juve will finish 4th or higher?
