I mean, the guy cuts Diego for Quagliarella. Everyone goes nuts. It turns out to be great. We're doing well. Quag gets hurt. Now what? Now he swaps Amauri for Matri somehow. He wins us 2 games.

Just that sequence in itself is great.
He did not "swap" amauri for matri....we are paying 1/4 of amauri's wages to play for parma and marti cost us 3 million for 3-4 months

I think it was stupid to loan Amauri out while still paying his wages. Juve are always cursed with injuries, and we know that Piero, Toni and Iaquinta easily get injured, so Amauri would have been a decent backup.

The man scored less goals than Legrottaglie. We may as well kept Legro for that matter ... as a forward.

he he true that.
Marotta has done well..

To create an average team, full of overpaid and average but young and Italian players, he was hired for that, he wasnt hired to create a title contender. Since we got rid of our attractive forward, we should bring a new tabloid star.
Our number one is priority is to preserve our popularity in Italy for as many more years as possible.

I m confident that Marotta will do fine, considering the handicap...

Lets not forget this man, the guy who was suppose to rebuild this team after the worst season in our history, now how hard could it be to build a better team than the one from last season? How do you end up failing?

And why the hell did he appoint Del Neri?

I think Agnelli suggested that, well Moggi actually told Agnelli not to go for Benitez and we landed on Delneri. Not the worst of options since Fiorentina's GM would've rather died than us having Prandelli.

Not much is wrong with Marotta's work though, it's players who don't reach their top level more than us having a mediocore team. He fucked up with signing Martinez for 12M and Pep. I'm curious for him explaining what his plan with Jorge was and why he felt safe enough to spend such a huge piece of our transferbudget on him.

You know what I don't understand is, how this idiot will define our objectives for next season, if we fail to finish fourth this season. I shudder to think.

its strange to read such ciriticisms of Marotta after our last two games have shown, clearly...that when we get the bit between our teeth, THIS team, yes the one that marotta helped to build, can actually deserve to beat the current european and domestic champions, then definitely deserve to lose to Lecce. Marotta creates the squad, but it his not part of his job to create team spirit, organize tactics, motivate, make subsitutions, coach, train....they are the jobs of Del Neri and his coaching team. Marotta can be accused of bringing in players who we could see before, lacked the spirit and hunger we desperately needed in the squad after last season's horrorshow...but bonucci, storari, quags, krasic, matri, barzagli, sorensen, even pepe to a degree, added to buffon, chiellini, marchiso, melo, iaquinta, de ceglie...should be enough to be far better than we are. Our biggest problems are not, as i see them, marotta failing miserably in HIS job, its more a case of Del Neri failing in his.

I can see that blaming Marotta for hiring del neri in the first place makes sense...but i thought Agnelli had a big say, perhaps the final say in the matter, as would have blanc...

I like Marotta, he's done a good job with what he's been given. Not his fault Del Neri can't motivate the troops, even though sometimes I think it's because we don't have a true leader on the field to play all the time. Chiellini comes close but he's a defender. I'm thinking someone like Ronaldo, or Gerrard, or Lampard. Someone willing to play every single game, who has an extremely competitive mindset that spreads to the rest of the players and can single-handedly turn around the outcome.

I think the squad is better than last years.

Maybe a thread could be made on this.
