They can't put this off any longer. Maybe they were feeling that they could catch lightning in a bottle for this year. That bottle is empty now, and this summer has to be some massive changes to the starting XI. Buffon, De Sciglio, Khedira, Chiellini, and basically anyone over the age of 30 bar Higuain should not be starting.

Hope our management is ready to invest big this summer. As much as I love Chiellini, he just have way to many blunders like this in big matches, and he is not getting any faster either. Khedira played a good game tonight, but is in general not a starting materiale player. Barza is finished. Licht is finished. Buffon hopefully takes another season, but he should be a sub. Marchisio is apparently finished since he never playes. Matuidi is simply not good enough and Mandzu looks like a shadow of the player he was last year.

I'm not worried about whether or not this team can win the CL in the immediate future. Unless this club gets a major cash investment from somewhere, it's not going to happen.


What I AM worried about is that this squad gets so old, so fast, that it will take at least several years before they can be in contention to even be in the Champions League. That is my worry. It's time to stop sending every young kid out on loan. If they truly want to be self sustainable, then the scouting and developmental departments need a complete overhaul. I can't even remember the last time we had a homegrown player break into the starting lineup that isn't name Marchisio.

This is what worries me too. The our players get sold, and the ones we keep are getting older, we may no longer be competitive in the CL. We will regret not making the right moves during this era, especially considering the two finals we have been to.

We need a midfield that is comparable to our best midifeld of recent times... Pogba, pirlo and vidal.

SMS, Pjanic and Fabinho would do it but can we afford it? Our overall play would be dramatically better with a 3 man mid of that quality tho. Guys who can win the ball and transition to offence. We would be amazing for many years with that midfield

I've said it before that the management is playing football manager

No clear identity with our transfers and we are signing players just because they perform well for other teams but don't necessarily fit our system and our tactics

Sell Vidal sign Khedira as his replacement, how is that ever going to work?

Sign Higuain who we do not play to his strenghts and don't create anywhere near enough chances for him

Sign Mandzukic who doesn't seem to ever be played as a striker

Play a defensive game and not have a reliable counter attack

Sell Coman and sign Cuadrado, only one winger on the team lol

It's a big mess and beppe is prioritising quantity and cheap over quality

People at one point feared our defence. It even lost its 'bully factor.' Remember the days when Licht used to hustle the oppositions. It now feels tender and exposed. Midfield is all over the place too. Pjanic is a good player on this day, but everybody else seems a little second rate. Its scary to think how Real Madrid didn't even use Bale.

If we don't start showing more ambition in our signings then will lose our appeal.
