I met Giuseppe Marotta at a restaurant once - we’d accidentally been given his table. Apparently he was fond of the restaurant and had a specific table he liked, and the management had messed up and gotten their days wrong, (it was Tuesday and they thought he was coming on Thursday or something like that).
Anyway, the manager, completely embarrassed (this is a pretty nice restaurant) comes by and says “I’m so sorry, but we’d like to move you to another table if you could be troubled, and we’ll gladly compensate you for the cost of the meal and any other meal you’d like while you’re in town.” My sister and cousin were both like “Yeah that’s cool.” and I kind of played the asshole a bit.
“I’m sorry, I just don’t understand. We’ve been here for 15 minutes - we’ve just ordered. Can’t we finish our meal here?”
Then out of nowhere Beppe shows up next to the manager and says “Paul, these guys can finish. We’ll be at the bar. I got some time.”
And I (being a big Beppe fan) said “Oh wow, uh… I had no idea. Please feel free to give them the table.”
Marotta was grateful, shook my hand and said thanks, then gave me a card with his number on it and told me to give him a call later. After working up the nerve, I gave him a call that night, and to make a long story short, we had a glorious 11 month love affair, man on man, that I shall never forget. Our bodies intertwined as one, and from the beauty of Morocco, to the French Riviera, to the snorkeling in the Galopagos, Beppe and I made glorious gay love to each other on six of the seven continents.

True story.

Man, these copy pastas are really polluting the internet

Marotta: 'Cuadrado depends on Chelsea’
By Football Italia staff

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta confirms Juan Cuadrado would be “welcome” but “it depends on Chelsea”.

Rumours have been growing in the past 24 hours that the Colombian will return to the Bianconeri on loan, having spent last season in Turin.

“I believe our work is 95 per cent done on the transfer market,” Marotta told reporters at the annual Villar Perosa friendly between Juventus' A and B teams.

“We’re looking for a central midfielder. It’s not easy right now to get the right profile, it isn’t easy to improve a team like ours.

“Some names? That doesn’t seem right, they’re players from other teams but we’ll definitely be attentive to everything.

Marcelo Brozovic of Inter? I can say no. On the other hand Cuadrado is a player who would be welcome, he conducted himself very well with us.

“We have to assess Chelsea’s position, if an opportunity arises whereby we can bring him back to us then we’ll be there.”

Simone Zaza’s move to Wolfsburg appears to have collapsed, and Marotta discussed his possible departure, and those of others.

He was involved in a negotiation, in the end both sides made their assessments and it didn’t result in the definition of this sale.

“He remains in our squad, we evaluated our opportunities with him as we’ll do in the coming days if other offers are presented.

“Roberto Pereyra? We’ve had a lot of offers for him, the player liked one of those which was Watford, belonging the Pozzo family who the lad knows well.

“I think this negation will come to a conclusion one way or the other in the next 48 hours.

“[Mario] Lemina is a welcome confirmation, high-level teams asked for him but he’s an important element for us, a great prospect in whom we strongly believe.

“Alongside him I’d like to emphasise the return after recent physical problems of a player like [Kwadwo] Asamoah who will be very important.”

Marotta: 'Higuain regardless of Pogba'
By Football Italia staff

Juventus “would’ve signed Gonzalo Higuain even without selling Paul Pogba,” insists director general Beppe Marotta.

The two deals essentially cancelled each other out, as Higuain’s release clause was activated from Napoli for €90m while Manchester United broke the world transfer record by paying €105m plus €5m bonuses for Pogba.

We respected what Paul wanted,” explained Marotta on Sky Sport Italia when asked why that move had gone through.

However, I would’ve signed Gonzalo anyway even without selling Pogba.

“Higuain is the best buy of my career.”

Many would point to Pogba as the smartest deal, because he was signed as a free agent from Manchester United in 2012 and sold back to the same club for €105m four years later.

I guess that settles it. :D

We woulda bought Higuain anyways which makes Paul's move to Man U even more retarded. He wanted out.
