Yea, Vidal hurts more than Pogba, because he was the one who would've stayed here till eternity if we locked him down. Once we knew he was gone, there was no way we were building anything around a Raiola led Pogba, even though that's what we claimed we would be doing. Naive.

Players gone since 2015: Pirlo, Vidal, Tevez, Morata, most likely Pogba, and probably Cuadrado. Too many quality/key players allowed to leave. You can't keep fucking doing that. No continuity.

I do appreciate the work he has done, but we can't keep selling our best players every fucking year!
Morata and Cuadrado were not in our control. It seems that no amount of money we gave Real was going to stop them from taking Alvaro back, and now it looks as if he is staying there.

Pirlo had his moments in his last year, but he was missed more for his name only.

Tevez and Vidal were big. We effectively replaced Tevez with a younger, better version in Dybala. Vidal was the one that we have had difficulty replacing.

Pogba.....................well......................................... We will see who else is brought in. If they can get 1 or 2 quality midfielders, this club will be so fucking great.

This is most likely a great team as it stands right now

Herrara and Matic/Kovacic or perhaps some young talent, and we are set. However, that doesn't detract from the fact that we keep selling our best players, and that is fucking annoying. I'd rather have kept Pogba and Morata here while acquiring Pjanic, and not paid that release clause for Higuain.

I would have liked to have kept Morata too, but he never would have come here in the first place if there was no buy back clause. Pogba is chasing something, it seems, that is more that we as a club can give him. It's not just money, it's so much more than that for him. It's about brand recognition, and that is what Manchester United can give him. That is what the EPL can give him. Irrespective of their current status in the EPL, it's still Man U. Winning a CL for us would be great, and it would cement him as a great player.

Winning the CL with Man U? Are you kidding me? He would be legendary. As fucked up as that is, it's the simple truth. Right now, and in the next couple of years, is he making the right choice on a competitive and potential to win major trophies aspect?

Absolutely not. That club, even with him on it, is inferior to us. But it's not about that. It never was. What it IS about, is that his name gets brought up in the argument of "best player on the planet", and if he is who he is at United, then his name is on the lips of more people, more often.

Sad, but true. It's all about branding and marketing. The EPL is like that over-rated restaurant with all the latest in culinary revolution, fancy tables, high end clientele, and amazing food presentation, but in the end, the end product (the football) leaves a lot to be desired, particularly with the shoddy defending. The same applies to that high end restaurant. Everything is great, but the food is lacking.

The only 2 that matter on that list are Vidal and Pogba.

Cuadrado was never our player, let alone one of our best players. Morata was one of our best players for exceptionally brief periods of time, and wasn't even first XI this year. Pirlo was done. Tevez was something we all knew was coming, he consistently stated he wanted to return to Boca one day.

Losing Pogba and Vidal sucks. But that's about it.

Anyways:

Alves > Cuadrado
Higuain > Morata
Dybala > 32 year old Tevez
Pjanic > 37 year old Pirlo

Vidal > Khedira
Pogba > Marchisio/???

We've strengthened this team.

Simplistic notion. Very direct way of looking at it. We have definitely strengthened the attack, but the midfield is obviously weaker.

The midfield that we had a couple of years ago was lightning in a bottle. Very tough to maintain a midfield like that in the long term. The more notoriety we gained as a club, the more that other clubs were going to start looking. And you see what has happened.

But we rebuild it. Pjanic is already here. Another midfielder or two with different characteristics than who are already here, and the midfield has the potential to be excellent, and the rest of the club is just fucking loaded

I said the midfield is weaker. Obviously.

It's not even August 1st yet. We already have Pjanic. Lots of time to remedy the midfield. Stop being so dire.
We know how having a few weeks left in the mercato worked out for us last time. Dat dere Hernanes panic buy :howler:

Until Dybala or someone else leaves, and we have to fucking rebuild again. Big clubs don't usually have such a high turnover every year. It goes against the concept of continuity. I don't see Atletico Madrid giving away their best players every year.

I hope lesseon is learned, don't deal with clients that has fat pizza boy agent.
wat

We got him for nothing and are selling him for 100M. Even if we maybe should have made 20M more, this has been a great piece of business. The only problem is the people who were delusional enough to think he'd stay forever. As long as you know what you're getting into, dealing with Raiola is fine.

It was fantastic busniess, but I meant as in if we ever think about getting one of his clients, then we know what to prepare to
