For a lot of people in here the world is black and white. Sometimes football is a game of margins. If we scored from one of the many chances against Udinese or Chievo and did not concede whenever there is a shot on our goal then we would have 6 points from 3 games and that would be exceptable. Last year we had the margins on our side especially in CL.

conceding every match, not scoring goals, not having any effective defensive midfield work, having injured players all over the place, having pogba obviously miles away from his best form, having padoin as a starter regista, having 1 point from 2 home games after we won like 32423 home games in a row, etc

I can't believe Allegri did this. This was such a bad move.

We are conceding every match because every shot on goal goes in at the moment. That would be hard for any team especially a new team trying to find confidence and continuity. Injured players for key players can break any team. Not scoring eventhough we created lots of open chances. For me thats the definition of margins.

2001 was much much more taking into account inflation.

And we did sell a lot as well, talking about absolute spending is BS and doesn't make sense, complain about the 60 million net spend if anything (Milan had a much higher one btw, althought they did spend rather little the mercatos before that - due to very poor financial planning prior).
just to put this meth into bed once and for all, we've spent "net" in 2001 summer 28 mil pounds that's 38 mil euros in today's exchange rate (check transfermarkt).

This summer our "net" spending was around 60 mil euros. Hope this will clear it up.

he sold some of the best players in the world in their positions and replaced them with bunch of failed rejects.

its beyond crazy how he's getting away with it.

Dybala is not a failed reject.

If it wasn't for our fucking injuries we wouldn't be sitting at 1 point and you would see a lot less bitching here.

Cuadrado at Chelsea
Khedira at Real
Hernanes at Inter

those 3 guys did not exactly come off a successful time in their previous clubs before arriving.
So? How is that relevant to anything?

Can't they be good for us?

You must be one of those guys who would fap if Cuadrado and Khedira cost us 25mln each, but since we paid nothing for them, they are failed rejects.

Welcome back usual panic Suns.

what are u even talking about? seriously, i'm not the one moaning right now, you are.

I just said we replaced some of the best players in the world with players who came of failing seasons. That is the truth and has nothing to do with their price tag. How the hell would I fap if we paid Real 25m for Khedira after he's been injured for 2 years or paying Chelsea 25m after his notoriously bad spell in London?
you're making no sense.

i'm not saying they can't be good for us, but I'm comparing them to their predecessors which is the obvious thing to do.

Transfer price is usually indicative of a player's worth yes. Caudrado had a terrible time at Chelsea and the same applies to Khedira in recent years at Madrid. Buying a player coming off of two great seasons is better (and likely to thus be more expensive) than buying a player coming off a terrible season or two.

Jovetic went to Inter for peanuts for the same reason. Pirlo, and Barzagli were somewhat similar too.

Not a biggest fan of this market opportunity policy we got going on, especially when it includes 80% of your signings, but neither Tevez nor Pirlo were setting the stage in fire prior to their join.

and prior to them joining, we hadn't just made the CL final, established ourselves in Europe's elite and they did not have to replace some of the best players in the world.

different times and expectations, that is the thing.

and what were you expecting exactly Suns? for me it was to reinvest all the money earned by getting there and they did close to that.
