I'm confused. Are we supposed to be angry now at Moratta because the rumor about Vasquez turned out to be false, should we fault him for not trying hard enough for Vasquez, or do we celebrate Vasquez not being a realistic target anyway? :boh:

This knee-jerk fandom thing is sooo confusing...
It requires a certain level of talent.

What I think is going to happen:

Mascherano - 15m outright purchase.
Goetze - 5m loan for two years with 35m obligation.
Benatia - 5m loan with 17m obligation.
Siqueira - Free loan with 9m obligation.

Goetze, Mascherano, Benatia, Siqueira. Beppe bawses. Everyone bows.

Best summer ever and Beppe trolls all with clips of his interviews about 'numerical' midfielders beautifully blended with the sounds of the chartbusting 'Turn down for what'.
I know this is a joke post but why would Bayern do that?

Say we get him, in two years we're still the same elite Juve we've been the last 4 years and Götze is a big part of our success. At that point he'd be worth more than 35-40m.

Anyway,

What I hope for is Götze and a proper replacement to Vidal. I don't want to stand there next season with no real replacement for Vidal AND Pogba. That would be devastating.

Zidane 71M

Nedved 40M, Gigi 40M, Thuram 40M, Salas 25M

we clearly afforded all these players with Zidane money
How did you do that happy counting.. Thuram was below 20.We never payed in our history 40 mil for a defender,And he came from Parma our feeder club and Nedved was about 20-25.Maybe we add something little but main money come from Zidane's transfer. Leave Salas .Why you are mentioning him with Zidane's sale at all?We have Tamoil. Biggest sponsorship deal that time in the world of football.TV rights.RTL German channel have the rights outside of Italy for Serie A.So please don't compare Zidane's transfer, before Ronaldo's,later 8 years, still biggest transfer and even now 14 years after, still in top 10.And who we bought with Vidal's money? For a 37 mil which are a peanut money for him.Don't make me laugh.I know that you are notoriously persistent to defend every possible move of Beppe but don't compare things that can't be compared.

We also sold Inzaghi for €23m.
yeah, but they are comparing the Vidal sale with Zidane (probably indicating we should have gone for more money for Arturo) by saying we bought all these players with Zidane money and will get only Vazquez with Vidals money, when it clearly doesent work that way.

Galliani would be proud

lol you don't know shit zach.

if I told you in May we'd sign Dybala for 40m, Mandzu 20m, Zaza 20m.. you'd give me the standard BS of how little money we have and we don't operate like that and bla bla bla.
:agree: It's actually kinda sad, and it's not just Zach btw. He simply stands out because he makes it too obvious.

Haha, that is true for all the society members.
is it? me and some others were saying even back in April that we will be spending more than usual this summer, because of the low spendings of previous mercatos and increased revenue. Zaza deal was obvious since Janaury, Dybala i was a bit surprised (expected 25-30M with bonuses instead of 32+b).

i thought it was obvious for quite some time that we are capable of spending more

Spending more isn't necessarily good. It's who you spend it on. A couple of months ago Beppe was gloating about how we attract much bigger names than we used to before and both him and Allegri mentioned names like Oscar, Gotze and Draxler, and you all know how that went. We don't seem to know how to make that jump to the next level where we deal with already made stars instead of potential.

problem with those names you mentioned is, they dont want to leave their clubs, Draxler was realistic but we didnt want to overpay (Schalke was asking for 30M+). there still could be a deal if Schalke settles for 25M + bonuses.

but anyways, Beppe and Allegri never mentioned these names intentionally. they simply got asked by journalists questions like "what do you think about Isco?" or "do you like Oscar?", "is Gotze the trequartista you look for?" etc. by answering such questions, it seemed like we are looking for these players, but we never stood a chance mostly because they werent on the market but even if they were, the prices would be in the 60M range which we wont pay.

and we do attract big names. Mandzukic, Khedira are big names, Dybala chose us over the EPL, Draxler was willing to come here. unless you expect the very best players in the world, these names are quite exciting

Really? Gotze doesn't exactly sound like he wants to stay there if things remain as they are. You can't be serious offering 15M for Draxler, even if I don't think too highly of him, I know he's worth more in today's market. You can't fool anyone with that offer, which explains Schalke's reaction to that offer. It was humiliating.

Maybe they didn't mention them intentionally, but what it was definitely intentional when Beppe said "we will never sign the likes of Oscar and Isco". I mean, what the fuck does he think he's running here? Even you can't justify those comments.

Mandzukic's transfer was awesome, but he was coming from a "bad" season in Spain. Khedira? He's a big name, but not a great player by all means. Still, was very good at the time considering he was coming as a bench option, not as a starter. Dybala's type of players is where we actually shine in getting, but he's not exactly a big name, which is fine.

No, I think what was meant is the profile of player outgoing and the profile of player incoming, in proportion. Apart from the financial tangent.

How comes Schalke didn't sell? They are stupid to keep a player who clearly doesn't want to be there anymore. He won't play with all his heart and go for peanuts next year. Schalke's hands were tied, what happened?
Please always mention @Zacheryah in these posts.

Not going to get into the first part of your post, as a lot of that has been addressed through this thread and others. Though my take about the examples of the big names you share as Mandzukic, Khedira and Dybala is as below:

Mandzukic was making a move up from Atletico Madrid, and was not enjoying an ideal situation there. Had he had a better season and was getting along with Simeone, the situation could be different. As a player and value for money deal, I think we did well on this one and he is definitely a continental name.

Khedira as Matthaus also correctly said, only came to Serie A because Madrid didn't want him anymore, the player himself mentioned how he was ill treated in the latter half of the season and wasn't given the chance to play despite being fit. Youd think a big name in its true sense would have clubs bigger than Schalke having approached him to close a deal. That too, when he was available on a free. Khedira is a high profile player mainly because of the teams he plays for, but he is far from being a world class player. This was an opportunity signing rather than a statement of intent.

I don't think you can call Dybala a top player yet. He is a good prospect and we ended up overpaying a bit, but I don't blame the club for that. The situation was a fine line and we did pretty decently in the circumstances. Although, again, the player was coming from within the league and moving to the biggest team in the same league. If Dybala was playing at Wolfsburg, and it was the EPL vs Serie A, good luck with him signing for Juve ahead of Bayern or United. That's where you could say our attraction is truly continental. He's kind of said it himself, that he needs to grow as a player and Juve will give him that.

Not being ungrateful here for the work done by the management, but we need a marquee player to help bring out the best in the likes of Dybala and Mandzukic. You'd think a signing like Goetze would kind of speak for our international profile as well as make a statement of intent after the sale of Vidal.
