only benched players have the right to ask permission to leave, guys who've played a massive part for your success can't just leave whenever they want to.
and don't give me the they've won too much BS. Barcelona's core has won everything the last 7 years yet they've got no problems to this day. Same thing with United who won everything for 10 years without anybody asking to leave cuz they got 'bored'.
If draxler becomes a major success next season are we just suppose to let him leave if he asks for it because we have this policy? Its way cheaper to keep your players than to sell them, replace them and hope for the best.

the current generation of footballers are pretty lame, many of them are not the real "professionals" - if their club manager is not willing either to offload them or to improve their contract they dramatically lose their shape, start to moan, become lazy and don't forget about their agents who are spread the bullshit rumours about the club in press or say something like "my client are not appreciated well in the squad" blablabla, so you have to sell player if he ask, especially when you have good offer on the table.
