Anyway, James Rodriguez would not have developed to the player he is right now had we got him. We would have loaned the shit out of him, co-owned his sorry ass to Empolis and Livornos and saw hium turn 24 with a measly career.
Indeed.

Pogba is the only young player who was treated as they all should -- by giving them a chance -- which we never did in the past.

It's always the same story.

- We'll not buy the X player because he doesn't have Serie A experience
- If we buy, we'll loan him out so he learns Serie A
- He's unproven talent and it's a huge risk to buy him and play him (in every case this has been said, the same players value has jumped at least 3 times higher)

But one, just one huge thing worries me. Those people who say stuff like

"man, top teams can't afford buying young players and develop them, it takes years. Top teams just buy instant quality".

Ok, let's stop there for a second. First of all, what is the definition of a top team here? I get the logic behind those sentences, but at the same time it's one big BS. One thing should be straight and it's that we are NOT in a position to buy those instant quality players simply judging by the fact that we never spend big on individual transfers. So you can't say that thing when it comes to Juve IMO, it's pure BS. We keep buying players for 15mln at most and there's no way those are pure insurance that players will great here. There's always a risk. Look what Roma did whey they bough Lamela and Marquinhos. They singed both for peanuts, they did amazing for them, and they sold them for over 60mln euros in like 2 years time. I'm NOT comparing them and us, not at all, we're surely a superior club. But it's what clubs do who can't afford to sign WC players ffs. There's no logic when you say no to Rodriguez or Sanchez, but signing Martinez and Morata for 2-3 times higher price. It would make sense to say no to Rodriguez if we're getting Suarez. But we're not doing that and simply enough when we're not in a position to sign quality and world class players, we must the a higher risk and sign individual stars, like we signed Pogba.

I'd just add to that one more thing or I'd like stop with the myth: "it's too much risk with youngsters". There's actually no risk as long as you don't spend big on the kids. If you get a freebie like Pogba or pay 5 - 7m for a youngster there's no risk or a little one because all you do is include the kid into your squad and give him chances when you can afford to do so. If the kid is doing better and better you give him more chances if he sucks you bench him and then sell/loan/include in other deals.

There's an old adage: "Those who don't take risks don't drink the champagne". :D

If any of those young players we loaned were any good, they wouldn't have stayed at mid table Serie A clubs. Only Giovinco and Immobile are the ones that made it to a top club level.

And if I remember correctly many of those youngsters we have signed trained with our first team during the summer, if they have impressed Conte, I'm sure they would have stayed.

Doing a very good job at cutting ties to some players who can't bring anything to the club anymore. Sad to see Vooch go, but he had his time and left an awesome picture, it's better that he doesn't rot here. Just need to unload Quags and hopefully Bonucci/Ogbonna before we start getting some quality.

The most important thing is that he doesn't ship off Padoinho. Only then I can call it a successful mercato.
I cant chose between Padoin and Asamoah's shirt for next season. I told @Fr3sh that i would get Asamoah's, but the workrate and dedication Padoin brings despite beeing benched, is touching.
