Marotta has made 1 good January 'purchase' (Caceres) in the past 4 seasons.

He should just quit January altogether. I'm not even saying we need big purchases in January, but he just brings in useless hacks which are a big money pit.

5/10 Mercato.

-Have 6 strikers now which is too much.Unable to get rid of the surplus.
-We got trolled hard by Inter in the Guarin-Vucinic fiasco thereby reducing Vucinic's market value in the process.

1/10 or possibly even 0/10 if we take up the option for Osvaldo and pay 15m or more for him.

So who would you have bought when Quag got injured? Boriello and Anelka were cheap loans like Osvaldo. Peluso and Padoin are still useful. So its Toni vs Caceres and Barzagli.
Someone cheap that didn't cost 18m, just like osvaldo will cost at least 15m in the end. Borriello and Anelka are useless crap that cost millions in wages. Peluso and Padoin are really basically useless besides taking up the XI in some rotation games. Anything some primavera player can do.

What's even bigger joke the fact that we have 6 strikers in the team yet we don't have even real 1 LWB.

Beyond ridiculous IMO...
Define real, please.

Who exactly? Its easy to say we should buy someone who can score 30 goals for 5 million, but who is he? Matri contributed a lot and then we sold him for 12m, so he wasn't a huge loss. Boriello and Anelka were useless crap but they were hardly a "big money pit" like you said. And if buy Osvaldo for 15m in the summer it wouldnt be a winter transfer, now would it?
Oh, and that part about Peluso and Padoin is just absolute bollocks. Juve has always had hardworking bench players that are not superstars but are still solid. Young players should be loaned out to get playing time instead of rot on the bench.

Someone who plays LWB before joing Juve not some CM who is forced to transform into a LWB ala Asamoah just because we have a shortage in that position.
So you would prefer someone who is naturally a LWB to someone who is naturally CM, even if the latter plays better as a LWB than the former? You play too much FM bro.

Who exactly? There is a shortage of good fullbacks in general, and wingbacks are even harder to come by. I can only think of two players that would genuinely be better than Asa, and those are Alaba and Baines. Both are unattainable.

Did I say 30 goals for 5 million? No, we were crap then and signing Matri didn't salvage anything. We should have just loaned another 30+ (age) striker with no 18m obligation to purchase. It wouldn't have mattered if we ended up 15th or 7th at that point. That money could have gone to a better player in the next window. And probably 3-4m+ is nothing for you to pay Borriello and Anelka's wages I guess?

If we take up Osvaldo's loan now then it's taking up the option created in winter, not summer.

Padoin and Peluso have both done nothing besides take up spots, and there's no reason why we can't use some primavera player(s) to cover their spots in Coppa italia or bottom of table Serie A matches. There is a difference between hardworking bench players with some talent (Quag, Pepe, Caceres etc) and useless players like Padoin and Peluso that don't offer anything besides a rotation spot.

he did all he could to move the dead weight and strengthen the team with the little cash we got, the osvaldo deal is a really good one, bringing in a highly motivated bench option for FREE(i cant stand all the people who twist this to say we soent 20 mil on the guy) so all in all a good job by Marotta, could have been great if not for the leeches and dumb fuck thorir

I think we'll find that keeping Quag & Mirko will be a good decision after signing Osvaldo. That guy is a complete nut job in the worst way. Balotelli looks quite sane compared to him most of the of time.

im willing to be optimistic for the simple reason, this guy showed his craziness in a dysfunctional roma and in a team where he broke the transfer record and was hailed as the messiah. This Juve is a completely different story.

All the confusions comes from the fact that people dont understand the difference between an option and an obligation. I bet there would be a lot less complaints if there was no option at all. But you have taken an introductory finance course, you should know that an option has some value; its never better to not have the option no matter what the strike price is. And if we end up exercising the option in the summer, it would be a stupid summer mover, not a stupid winter to move to get the option in the first place.
