No cronios, you dont understand it.

The problem is that we HAD to buy strikers, and no one wanted to come here. But quag and matri did. However, other teams knew we were in need so had us overpay for matri.

Now, to sell them, thats a problem. To who can you sell them ? They are past it !

Teams that they'd be an asset for, dont spend a fraction of their price they'll have italian or foreign youngsters instead
Teams that can afford them, will buy quality younger players, as NO ONE in italy is in the situation we were

Quagliarella rejects Premier League
By Football Italia staff

It’s reported Fabio Quagliarella has turned down all Premier League offers, including Sunderland and Norwich City.
The Juventus forward is on the market after the arrival of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, valued at approximately £7m.
The last few days have seen reports Norwich City and then Sunderland had approached Juve with proposals.
However, Sport Mediaset claim this evening that Quagliarella has given a clear response to any offers from the Premier League.
THERE @Cronios, FUCKING THERE

thats why selling is hard. Because you got past it players on a good contract, that dont want to leave.

And thats also the reason why we had iaquinta for so long, why we still got motta.

This still is the managers blame.
Becuase he has offered contractual offers that no other would and higher enough to compensate the lack of participating in matches and condemn the rest of a players carrier.
And of course get intimidated by the players and their agents...
We never had such problems in pre calciopoli era.

We were selling old players, moment before retiring for new talents, to smaller team that would trade talent for experience and performance here and now, over future prospect.
Now we are like hostages of the contracts we make, we dont own them, we are owned by them!

And this happens repeatedly, it is not just a random phenomenon.

Because we were an established top team before calciopoli. This is the first season we can honestly call ourselves a top team post calciopoli, of course some of the deadwood which helped us get here is going to be hard to move.

See Marotta's quote:
"This deal is also a response to certain scepticism levelled towards myself and the club by certain people. The value and prestige of Juventus certainly helped convince Tevez to come here,"

"I still recall that just two years ago, many players turned us down. Instead, today, there are plenty of players, also important ones, who want to join us."

I understand the point. and accpet it as a valid one.
This is also one of the reasons o opposed many of our transfer, many of them had little no effect to our cause, they did not help us to reach here, they have sunked us and are keeping bleeding our financials.
Esp the late acquisitions of the ItalJuve project, less than mediocre Italian players, with nothing to offer but Italian NT caps, huge salaries and overrated transfer fees.
For nationalistic reasons, we have succumbed at buying them and we ares till paying the price.
Marotta is not solely at fault, he was instructed to do so.

But i am not refering to them only, several mistakes were made, apart from that and the Martinez cases.
The latest one being Peluso, we did we bought him? He is kak, serie B kak, we got him only because of his NT caps, no other team whould offer the ammount we have spent on him and when we will want to upgrade to lets a Kolarov, we will stumble upon the obstacle of selling Peluso.
No other team would spend the ammount we gave for him, no one will offer him the salary we do, he didnt help and his is so limited that will never help our cause. (and give me the we need even more depth excuse, like Chiellini, Asamoah, Caceres and DC were not enough for depth)
After Molinaro, Grosso and Motta, we ought to know better.
At this particular moment we were not in that low position that could not find a better player, but we are keep repeating the same mistakes.
We needed a starter, still do, but we got yet another noone for nationalistic reasons and we will be forced to waste one more salary, because no team will be ever interested on him and he wont accept to willingly go to a much lower one.

At least, hopefully we have learned smth of the co onwership fiaskos and the buy back clause on Sorensen wont sink our our budget when we will have to call him back...
And with Giaccherini being sold for a good ammount, we are showing marks of improvement, we must build upon them and further improve, (where it is possible of course).

I do think Cronios makes one good point. Piling up players like Padoin, Peluso and the rest makes it very hard to get rid of them, especially since none of them were really that needed in the first place and you were already planning on signing new players the next mercato(Ogbonna and plans for Zuniga, Kolarov etc) anyway. Those guys probably get paid more here than they'd ever be in another club and if your philosophy is one goes out and one comes in then it will make business a bit more difficult. And especially since small teams have no incentive in signing guys like Padoin and Peluso from us because many of them want players they can turn a profit on and they won't get that from those guys we want to get rid of.

Going forward we should be wary of who we bring and who gets a contract. It's been painfully obvious that some players really don't want to leave the Juve contract because.. why should they? If you're around 30 then being a part of a first class organization like Juventus and collecting that big check is so much more compelling than playing for a shit team for half of the money.
