whyv do people keep talking about agnelli's "gift"

you should all know better than to believe a president's promises. don't you guys know anything about politics?

this club doesn't have amazing amounts of cash money. we stil have stadium to build, and we lost huge amount of cl money.

second one does look better to be honest, especially at the back.
De Ceglie is a poor player, Motta isn't great defensively and Bonucci lacks experience.

It may look better just now, and the back line has potential, but they will make plenty of mistakes through the course of the season.

:agree:

Defensively I think Motta is worse than Caceras, even though I haven't seen him play extensively. DC is no upgrade to Grosso. Bonucci might turn out better than the Cannavaro of last year, but thats about it.

Is that a fact?

Buffon

Caceres-Cannavaro-Chiellini-Grosso

Sissoko-Melo-Marchisio

Diego

Amauri-Del Piero

versus

Buffon

Motta-Bonucci-Chiellini-De Ceglie

Krasic-Melo-Aquilani-Pepe

Amauri-Quagliarella

Now, I like 4-4-2 more than 4-3-1-2 and I like how athletic the team looks, but I don't think there is more quality in the team and I don't see how one can be sure just now the squad is better.

They will probably do better this season, but that is likely to be down to having a reasonably competent coach.

No offense Red but the second team is alot more balanced and improved. The midfield especially. Also the defence for me is improved Bonucci is far superior to Cannavaro.

Maybe it was a stretch to say the team is 'much' better, but it's definitely an improvement and at least we don't have Grygera or Zebina starting anymore.

I for one would be content with not playing the most attractive football to watch if it means getting results like we did under Capello, be it by getting 1-0 results.

If we can secure a champions league spot we can start to invest in big name quality players again. I think Marotta is trying to build a foundation on which we can become a great team again but it's gonna take time. If it were not for the incompetent bod we had in charge for the past four years of course we would be in a much more favourable position but whats done is done.

None taken.

I don't expect anyone to say the top team was better last year because everyone watched it fail miserably.

People have hopes for this team, so they are inevitably going to say it's better.

Add a proper left back to the current squad and I will be more optimistic, but right now I don't see more quality in the current team.

What the current team should have is better spirit and organisation.

what we were missing last year was width and wingers to stretcj opposition defenses.

we got that covered this year with both fullbacks and wingers that like to push up.

no more oppononts sitting back and choking us because everything went through diego only

:agree:

I do have high hopes of Krasic and Aquilani to deliver our quality though.

my only worry is about striker really. i fear us waiting for dzeko next year might hurt us this season. i see amauri doing much better this season but i still have my doubts on whether or not he can keep it going all season

Is the common consensus that we have an agreement with Wolfsburg for first option on Dzeko next season or something? :shifty:

it's pretty obvious.

diego's cheap departure

getting quag on loan and not buy, no pazzini and no benzema either.

we are just waiting for the cl money
