He's a slightly better Krasic on the left side. Not that I blame him, coz he's a CM. The few times he drifts into the middle, you could see how comfortable he was just playing down the middle.

Seriously? Krasic with and without the ball looked pretty much like a headless chicken. He was also very poor defensively, while Asamoah is great there.

I'm guessing because people don't like Asamoah at LWB that it's Marotta's fault and not Conte's? Is that accurate?
And yes, Asamoah is easily the best LB in Serie A. Best offensively and defensively without a doubt. More assists last year than Zuniga's accomplished in the last 3-4 seasons ffs.
Asamoah is not the best at fancy dribbling though.

Ridiculous. When we bought him we had 3 CMs in a formation that required 3 CMs. "5th choice". Plus he had the ability to play LWB at a high level. So Conte put him there which was genius. You're making it sound like Marotta just went off on his own and saddled Conte with some scrub. 18M paid over 3 years for Asamoah is a bargain considering age, low wages and him being amazing at 2 positions at the minimum.
Do you ever stop and think that since Asamoah was playing LWB from day one and we had no real alternative that maybe Conte was OK with Asamoah as a LWB before Marotta made the deal?
Or I guess Marotta was just doing a poor job as usual and Conte saved the day again!
