Kovac and Giannichedda on free transfers are pretty good moves. Both of them are good squad players and will certainly add depth to the squad. A right back, centre back and centre mid are all that we need now.
Exacly..

and as for a new Centre Mid, i REALLY do hope that we will NOT sign c.zannetti !!! as Appiah is a fine sub imo.. so, Pizzaro would be GREAT or Mozart...

Some of you guys start screaming that they suck, what the F Moggi is doing?....blah blah blah

    haven't you learned yet?

Moggi takes the cheap players at the start of the mercato and he waits for the Big guns near the end.

    Wait and see.

Last year he took Zebina and Kapo for free.
This year he took Kovac and Giannichedda.

What happened in the last days of the mercato last year?

    :D

    Patience.

I don't know,I mean many memebrs here say that Del Piero should leave because he is 30 years old.
Then Moggi brings Kovac and Gianicchedda both 31,and everybody are happy. That doesen't have any sense to me.

Very good moves. Giannichedda can play nearly everywhere and will add a lot of depth and Kovac is a good defender - sub with routine. Don't underrate him, cause IMO he is really good. Most of you judge him because of the Chelsea game. A very big mistake.

And..........agree with you Mark: Moggi will pull out at least 2 big guns in the end!

this is a good deal as they both are free. it adds depth to our squad.
but i hope we won't sign C.Zanetti, he's useless and tacchi's better than him IMO.

yeah, if anyone from inter is needed its an emre or a stankovic type player. not CZ.

if giannichedda is here to stay, then i think its time tachinardi moves on as IMO he isnt going to get much more playing time than he did. i wonder if any clubs would be interested in him now.

I think everzbody should have noticed that this season we had no decent cm apart from Emo. He had to work so hard every game, because the lack of abilities of his fellow cm (no matter Appiah or Tacchi or Blasi) that he was on his very last legs towards the end of the season.

With a decent partner Emo could go forward a bit more, and even i he is not the smoothest dribbler or passer he can help attacking a lot.

We need real good, hard working, effective cm's and Giannicheda is exactly like that. Furthermore he is versatile, played very good games as a cd with Lazio.

Imo Appiah, Blasi, Tacchi should be sold or swapped.

Christiano Zannetti should be welcomed (reunion of the champion roa central midfield) and a creative cm (am) as well

I dont rate Kovac high, he should be swapped imo, but we ll see.

    no worries, Trust the Don.

Juventus have confirmed the double capture of Giuliano Giannichedda and Robert Kovac. Planetfootball.com

Both players have arrived on free transfers from Lazio and Bayern Munich respectively.

Midfield dynamo Giannichedda (pictured) will add some extra bite to Juve's midfield, while Croatian stopper Kovac will look to earn a starting role alongside Fabio Cannavaro at the heart of the Old Lady's defence.

"This has been an extraordinary season for Juventus and we proved throughout the campaign that we were better than Milan," said Juve's director general Luciano Moggi.

"As for next year, the team is already competitive and we have already reinforced the squad with the signing of Kovac and Giannichedda."

However, Juve's summer spending will not be finished with Giannichedda and Kovac. They are being strongly linked with Palermo's Andrea Barzagli, although Walter Samuel of Real Madrid could be an option but only if they allow Emerson to move in the opposite direction.

Moggi did confirm that Juve would no longer be pursuing Monaco's Shabani Nonda - but denied he had failed a medical.

"It isn't true he made medical checks and he failed them," added Moggi.

"We simply looked at him, but after evaluating our attack we think it is complete so we decided to give-up on him. We can't make a forwards' collection.

"We will do only few adjustments."

Moggi again insisted that David Trezeguet would be staying and that was one reason they did not need another forward.

"Trezeguet will stay at Juve and I say it clearly," he said.

"We don't surrender to pressures. We decided to stay with him next season and so David will stay with us next season.

"Our attack will be practically the same, with the addition of [Adrian] Mutu.

"If anything I could take in consideration few proposals about Marcelo Zalayeta, maybe a loan."

I wonder......why the f-u-c-k we always look at the back? Always some defenders, always some DMs......All teams buy firepower, creativity and we buy bunkers...it's just matter of time when we will repeat 2003/2004 season....

    Moggi's ruls

Player must not be creative, even a bit
Player must run much and be dumb
Player must not be able to pass, even a bit
Player must not look and run onto opposing side of pitch
Player must remain on his side of pitch, spending 50% of game in his keeper's box
Player must be good tackler cuz it's more important to tackle the ball than scoring a goal
Player has tu fullfill his quota of 24 yellow cards and 3 red cards or he faces wage cut
and they must be free :D

Cristiano Zanetti? We have no need for that one-dimensional player. Why don't we have a look at Emre FFS? He's actually a midfielder that would add something to this team. And since we already have Giannichedda why would we go after Zanetti? Sounds like a bunch of crap to me.

But both of these signings today will be primarly to strengthen our defense. Giannichedda can player as a centerback or right or leftback, so he certainly could fill in anywhere when neccesary. Certainly a decent squad player. Kovac obviously will be the understudy to Thuram or Cannavaro unless we ship him off as part of a deal.
I havent seen Kovac play, but Im going to have to say Tudor is probably better off with us. He's played with us before and when not injured he provides a good option on the d line. I personally didnt see the need for a Kovac signing with Tudor already in the ranks. I feel they maybe similar in some aspects, but at 31 i dont think Kovac can be much better than someone around the same age as him.

As for Giannichedda, i think again, at 31 i dont think he's got more than a couple of seasons on decent football in him. That said, i think he's just the kind of player you'd like in your squad, if you're looking to reinforce some bench strength. His versatility, is an added bonus. And these are the kind of players that help you go far in the Champions League, because of their valuable contributions coming off the bench.

And as for Christiano Zanetti, i dont know what Capello sees in him that we dont? Seriously, he was probably the weakest link in the Azzuri lineup, and I dont see him being any different in a Juve lineup. I think we'd be better off with the likes of Appiah. But like ive said a thousand times before, a player like Emre would be an almost ideal addition to the squad.
