i think it makes sense from his pov and in the context of the whole conversation. he was over 40, his family apparently loved paris, juve called him back just to sit on the bench for the first time in his career, and he earned a lot less here. he basically gave up on a last gigantic paycheck for juve and got a bench role in return
as a fan it's a bit shocking to read at first, especially without context, but if you take a step back, think that it was any other aging player who still was able to give more, and the story was not related to juventus, you'd also say that it was a bad career move. it also means that he was happy with his first juventus career and with the choice he made when he stayed post calciopoli when he had an agreement with milan, or when he refused offers from real madrid or any other big non italian team
