What was your opinion of Fabien Barthez?
Among the better keepers in the 90es and beggining of the 21st century, but obviously a few levels bellow Gigi. Was well capable to make a great save (great reflexes) but had the same weakness as Spainard and could make an absolute monkey out of himself on occasion due to lapses in concentration.

Yeah that's pretty much it. I remember him rushing out further than his defenders at times. Bizarre.

Its sad that the impression people get of him today is being projected as if that he was always at this level which is blatantly false. He was a completely different monster when he was young but the image that people will have of him is from his form today (which isn't bad at all but nothing close to his best). Casillas's image was shattered because people took his latest form to be representative of his career and you see imbeciles like Nuer get rated as equal or better than these two even though back in the day, Toldo would have challenged Nuer.
Toldo!!! He was a fucking beast back in -00. And he looked like a Zeus or something close to that. :delpiero:

"Juventus goalkeeper Buffon hasn't t conceded a goal in the league in 745 minutes. The record is held by Sebastiano Rossi, who kept a clean sheet for 929 consecutive minutes for AC Milan from December 12 1993 to February 27 1994."

"But it was a seventh clean sheet in a row for Buffon, who haven't conceded a goal in the league in 745 minutes.Another shutout, against fierce rivals Inter on Sunday, would move Buffon up to third on the list of goalkeepers who have gone unbeaten the longest in Serie A.
The record is held by Sebastiano Rossi, who kept a clean sheet for 929 consecutive minutes for AC Milan from December 12. 1993 to February 27. 1994, beating the previous mark set by former Juventus goalkeeper Dino Zoff in 1972-73 by 26 minutes."
