^^
It also doesn't help when our Captain is the who's constantly making the mistakes. A captain is supposed to be the one who's motivating the rest of the players. I think Vidal would make a good captain

In Italy, most definitely. However, in Europe, we never came as close to dominating opponents as we did when we had Zidane. 2 consecutive CL finals, and a semi final loss to United with a Zidane on one knee and Del Piero injured. The only time we ever came close after that was in 2003.
You should learn to know when you're being trolled.

All things considered , Gigi or Storari , i dont think this year is a problem.
For me , it's just important to make our moves for the future. Juve MUST have a good keeper, no matter what and we all knew that someday - maybe not today but it's not that far - we 'd have to find an alternative to Superman.

Well, that depends on when his contract expires. If it is in 4-5 years, then he will be 33-34, and given he is more the physical type than the cerebral style of defender, his best years are more than likely to be behind him.

Chiellini's defensive intelligence has always been under-appreciated on this forum. He isn't a violent gorilla that bundles players over when they approach.

I wonder how Buffon's form will impact Italy @ the WC. With the way our defense and Buffon have been leaking goals (and considering they are the foundation of the national team) I bet a lot of Azzurri supporters are extremely worried.
Sirigu should start over him. He's world class and better than Marchetti. He really needs to retire for Italy after the WC for his own image.

Wow if you don't think Buffon is playing badly of late then you are seriously deluded. Hello we're talking about constantly giving away free goals . Not a corner, but a goal just like that. Considering how bad he's been this season, this match was actually not his worst one.
Did you see my mention other games? I am strictly talking in relation to todays game.

What the hell did Chiellini do to you, B81? Don't know why you're putting him in the same category as Buffon and Pirlo, so random.

Btw, I don't know how to feel about Gigi starting against Real. Their long shots will be such a burden for him. It has to be Storari. It has to.

I love Chiellini, Buffon, and Pirlo. However, I am concerned about our performances, slow pace, and lack of concentration. The team and results are far more important than the individuals.

It's not like Real have any players who are capable of scoring from long range shots. No need to worry guys. We got this.

But Chiellini doesn't have slow pace or lack of concentration. He's obviously been advised to go forward because it wouldn't happen every single game if that weren't the case. Thus, it makes it easier for teams to counterattack. But when he plays, he's always giving people a hard time and being an important player. You're not looking at the whole picture.

He has been doing great for Italy in qualifications.
