Every time I pulled on the Azzurri jersey, I have felt a more mature person, Catching Cannavaro’s record means a lot of time has passed, as I’ve been in the Nazionale for 16 years, or 20 if you count the youth levels. I always tried to raise our tricolore flag as high as possible and I still want to win something.”

He is pretty much the reason why I got into the sport. He's a generational goalie, a class act on and off the field, is always cool, leads his team on the pitch and a hilarious character off the pitch. He is the epitome of Italian and Juventus football.
I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but I think around 2006 or 2007, PUMA launched a Buffon game online where you had to score on him via penalty kicks, and he'd make the most hilarious remarks when you scored on him or when he stopped it. I tried finding the game recently, but to no avail. I spent a lot of time playing that.
