Gigi is pretty much the strongest GK ever and even though he might've seemed a bit off the last year or so, he's still world-class and I can't think of any GK I would trade him for. A solid defence is required for a GK to really shine and we simply haven't had that for quite a while. Stop hatin' bro!
I ain't hatin' bro, I'm hoping for the best again but I don't see him as the best for a while. He could be back to best though.

Well yeah, a 1/2 year injury and other lengthy ones as well as playing in a shit team with a shit D, confidence completely shattered will tend to affect one's form. 3 years though? No way.

I understand all that. But let's be honest, other goalies have perfromed better in last 2/3 seasons. Casillas, Julio Cesar, Van der Sar and even Cech who returned to his previous level.

There was a twinkle in his eye at that point and I knew it was for me. ;)

I will be more concerned if he still hasn't regained a lot of form by the end of the next season, but he is coming back from a serious setback and into a very difficult situation to work with. It's not as if he has an amazing defence in front of him to help out.

The other goalies did not have the likes of motta/grosso/grygera/that kid from arsenal helping them out in the defense.

You're looking at it the wrong way. Storari had the same defense yet performed better.

But he was on top form. It is one thing to come back and try to regain confidence behind a good defence, but it is more difficult to be at once behind a bad defence and trying to rebuild the reputation you had. He has much more to worry about than Storari.
