Hugo LLoris anyone ? I like him very much
In the event that we did for whatever reason sell Buffon, he would be my runaway choice.
if memory serves me right, arsenal are hot on his tail so i doubt we would be bringing him in. was'nt there a young gk hyped to be the new buffon?? machetti iirc

besides i dont think gigi is leaving this is the usual newspaper bs. as salvatore pointed out above.

I think so.

On Lloris, it depends whether you think Arsenal have the £25m+ it would take to sign him.

i dont know to be honest but he wont be short of clubs wanting him, i think bayern can use a good goalie as butt is'nt really up to the level. 25mil thats a bit too steep is that the real value lyon is asking for??

Marchetti and Frey

even Handanovic is a good option.
yup i would consider those. handanovic is pretty decent.

I did my best, but I can't think of any goalkeepers on this planet that I would be happy with. Júlio César I'd be satisfied but he's not an option.
:agree:

have u guys seen at. mad goalie??

It's Lyon and he is a young and very talented France No.1 :D

:D wow thats an insane amount to be honest!! they can keep france No 1. its def his young age too, he has a long way to go so he is a good prospect for the long run.

That's why we paid £32m for Gigi, ok he was always exceptional, but he was 23 and you are paying for maybe 15 years of service.
:agree: i'm not saying it would be a bad piece of buisness but things have changed and i doubt we would use money raised for a position for position switch.

If Lloris was signed to replace Buffon, there would be very little profit from the transaction, therefore not much could be done to improve the squad, therefore there wouldn't be any point in selling Buffon.

Indeed Red, Lloris would be a good replacement, but the money we need to spent on him would be that high that we won't have much left to improve our squad.

Gigi is better kept.

you sell Gigi for 40 Mil., then buy Marchetti for 9-10 or Frey for 15-20...that still saves you at least 20-25 Mil. Euros for a top player, or 2 very good players

Yep, which is why I don't agree with the deal or think it will happen. It's only a hypothetical situation, if Buffon wanted to leave for example.
