I really can't be objective, i love the man. My wish is not to sell him and i'd like our directors to reject the offer.

But i'm aware that any neutral would say that it's a lunacy not to accept this.
most people would probably accept that offer. 65 million to Juventus would mean alot. I know Moggi would have traded Gigi for a sum such as that.

Looking at it objectively we are coming to a period of change with Ale and Nedved soon to be gone and will need to begin a new cycle. 65 million could help us start again with players of the same caliber. Also Buffon is 30 years old and seems ot been having more and more injuries. We wont be selling him to a direct Serie A rival or even a CL rival at the moment.

I would love Buffon to stay but I think if such an offer came it would be smart to let him go.

As a goalkeeper, being 30 means he has good 5-7 years ahead of him at least.

Why would he want to go to a mid-table team?
by selling buffon we would not go to a mid table team.
With that money we could buy Augero and have secured a long term Del Piero replacement to carry Juventus into the future. We could also bring in Zapata and have money left over for Aquilani or Diego maybe. That is a ridiculous sum of money.

Jueve should only sell him for €100-150 million plus Elano(they want him to go anyway so why not give him to us. He could be useful.). We could invest that money in a team that would murder Serie A! Hamsik, Zapata, Dossena plus a new GK and a RB. A sell on fee that he can only come back to Juve would be nice also:juvefan2:

But seriously €75 mil. isnt enough for the best GK ever! Buffon is our hero and should stay with us till he retires.

Buffon would go to a mid-table team by the name of Man City. If Buffon were to leave, he would go somewhere where he can win trophies.

he might. he stayed with us in Serie B because he liked the challenge. Also if the salary they are offering is true I could see him getting on a plane as we speak. that is more than double his current salary. Also in 2 years City wont be a mid table team. If they keep it up they will be a top team soon.

As for a replacement there is no replacement for Buffon. The best we could hope for is to get a good goalie and strengthen the team in front of him. Like if we had a goalie like Handanovic from udinese for example or brought Mirante back that would be decent. But if you also bring in Zapata and pair him with Chiellini then I don't think we will be too compromised without Buffon. Then we would have loads of money left over to spend on bringing in top notch players for the future.

Buffon, by staying with us in Serie B proved, he cares for more than money. And he stayed with Juve, a club that has given him something. He has no connection with Man City, I don't see a reason why he should go there if they can't win a thing.

And Man City will stay a mid table team, unless their owners stop buying names and start buying players.

i have a Gigi poster above my bed so I do want him to stay. Don't get me wrong man.

I love Gigi for staying with us in Serie B.. but it is not like he wasn't getting paid for staying. Also he would have made about the same money if he left and went to Milan. The deal that is being reported would be double his salary and would be a new experience for him. Something he always said he wants.

look i will say teh same as i said about amauri, no player is unsellable, if we could get this amount of money for him then i am sorry but WE MUST SELL!
i know what you are thinking but we have faced this before with ZIdane, now if Real were willing to hand over 40+m for amauri and mac city were willing to have over 70+m for Buffon we woid be able to strengthen THE WHOLE team. new goalie, full backs an AM and a forward.
most folk thought Zidane was irreplaceable yet we got Thuram,Buffon and Nedved and the team went from strength to strength. i wouild be loathe to see Buffon leave but i am a realist and this could actually help us push towards a CL in the years to come

Buffon agent:

"We know nothing about this news. I haven't heard anything and, to be honest, the clubs haven't come forward," Martina told Goal.com.

"I read about it in the Gazzetta Dello Sport this morning. Usually the interested clubs will contact either Juventus or the agents, but I have not heard from anyone.

"I am sure [City] like the player, but there is nothing if no-one comes forward. Thus, there is no point in talking about something which doesn't exist."

I know its Goal but a quote is a quote
