Ribery for Buffon at Juve?
Friday 10 April, 2009
There are reports that Juventus are considering exchanging Gigi Buffon for Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery.

The Bianconeri have admitted that they would have to consider a big-money approach for Azzurri shot-stopper Buffon.

And Juve are looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer before next season's Scudetto bid, especially given Pavel Nedved's retirement.

According to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are weighing up the merits of exchanging Buffon for French international Ribery.

Bayern are looking for a goalkeeper to replace the unconvincing Michael Rensing, who has struggled to fill Oliver Khan's boots.

Juve general manager Jean-Claude Blanc is known to rate Ribery very highly and it would be a popular acquisition with the French community at Vinovo.

However, Werder Bremen star Diego remains Juventus' primary transfer objective for the summer.

Even in the Barcelona match he did well considering the rest of his team's performance.
Ribery played well in Barca game.

You can only say he was bad if you based your judgment on watching match highlight.
Yes, but Ribery didn't touch the ball. If that's a good game from Ribery I do not want him at Juventus. And I'd say that Ribery ought to be in the highlights.

He made fool of Dani Alves in several occasions, every time he touch a ball (in contrary to your believe, he did) he was surrounded with 2-3 Barcelona players and eventhough he managed to show some neat touches and dribbling abilities.

Considering the way Bayren was completely shocked by an impressive Barcelona and the way his other 10 teammates performed he was VERY good TBH.

I watched the barca game and nearly all bayern games this season.
He only does good stuff when he gets a perfect pass. If not he does pretty much nothing. He never, never ever gets back to help the defenders even not in barca when there was real need for that. Only thing he does is stupid fouls when things doesn´t go his way. It´s so easy to get him out of the game. Even 1. Fc Cologne made that. Just set two people next to him and he wont be able to do anything. He´s no fighter. He is such a Sissi, he is more on the ground than Luca Toni and gets so easy frustrated.

Keep Buffon and find another "younger" Ribery type player....you can't replace adequately a world class goalie. I do not think Real or Chelsea would consider selling their goalies as they are some of the best on the planet, why should we risk taking a step back in one of the most important areas of the team (goalie) and get a player like Ribery when we could go for someone else that could be just as effective. That is a chance we gotta take, not sell Buffon. So we would weaken our already weak defense just to strengthen our already stronger attack when we can strengthen our attack with another player and keep our defense strong with Buffon, at least the same level? Come on, give me break...

Yeah Ribery is great but it would be stupid to sell Buffon and creat another huge problem by solving another.

It is much better to have Buffon (awesome goalie) and Diego/Silva (very good attacker).. Then to have Ribery (awesome attacker) and a mediocre goalie

Plus Buffon is a symbol of the team like Oliver Khan was for Bayern and has many years left in him.

Did you watch the game?
Yeah.

True, he had atleast a couple of bright sparks.

Barcelona completely outclassed Bayern, even if Ribery did something purely magical I doubt it would have made inthe highlights.

I don't want Gigi to leave but if I was forced to do it it wouldn't be for one player. I'd by 2-3 very good players just like we did with the ZZ deal.
