Pazzini's problem is that he isn't Jovetic or Van Persie.

No, his problem is that he is an average striker, with an ok scoring record. He's definitely a better header of the ball than Matri, and marginally better at scoring, but he is nothing special, and not someone we should be building our attack around.

Well, you never know. It seems likely that he might be our only acquisition in attack, which would be extremely underwhelming and barf-worthy.

He might score 18 goals, but I can almost guarantee they won't all be in Serie A. Perhaps 13 in A, 3 in the Coppa, and possibly 2 in the CL.

We already got the mechanics set. We produce plenty of scoring opportunities. We got wingbacks, midfielders and supporting strikers that all fit into our system well and when playing good put an immense pressure on the opposing backline. Now to the issue of last season: Lack of goals. This is where Pazzini gets relevant. Being a better poacher than Matri I see Pazzini as a decent signing. Do I prefer Dzeko or Van Persie? Of course. But if Pazzini is the best poacher available, I'm all for signing him.

It's not Pazzini vs. Van Persie/Dzeko. It's Pazzini vs. Matri/Quag.
