But Fred, is he really biased?

You too are biased but against him(atleast as a person). Truth is neither of us know him personally or have played with or against him, and we don't know Vieira for that matter either, he could be a snake too. Or they just hate each other and make the other look bad when they talk about him.
Vieira is a thug and an asshole who doesn't know that? :D

I have no problem admitting it when Arsenal players are assholes. Another Arsenal player thats quite sneaky is Van Persie :p oh and Eboue is a serial diver too, Fabregas can be a cunt sometimes. I don't mind calling it like it is, when it comes to Arsenal players. But Van Nistelrooy is obviously a cheat and a very sneaky player. Other than the Vieira incident, there was also one with Ashley Cole where he almost broke the latters leg once, he did it in such a sneaky way that the ref didn't see it at all, but the FA after reviewing video evidence decided to punish him.

There are several other incidents in which he shows his true colors. I'm not claiming that i know him, for all i know he could be the nicest person in the world off the pitch. I am commenting on his conduct on pitch though, in which he is an asshole.

As for Ken being biased, no in general i think he is one of the more objective members on these forums. I'm always interested in what he has to say, because of that. He can be a little defensive when it comes to Dutch players, but thats natural. I wouldnt say he's biased though.

I won't argue that.

Although as the Cantona avatar i used to have might suggest, i don't care if a player is an asshole in the pitch as long as he is great. :D

And yes, i find most of Ken's post enjoyable. that's why i asked.

Fuck you i respect Henry even if he played for the wrong team

And Eric is an exception to the rule, i hate practically every other manure player :D

Well there are a few exceptions to my rule too. Vialli for example was my first football shirt(when he was at Juve though), so when i first started watching football(he was at Chelsea at the time) Vialli was my favourite player :touched:

I rate Van Nistelrooy extremely highly btw, forgetting for a moment that he is one of my most hated players ever, and forgetting what an asshole he is:p, he is a world class striker. IMO better than Inzaghi, Trezeguet, Raul, Eto'o, Henry and other modern strikers.
Fixed.

So why is one of them in semi-retirement while the other is still banging in the goals in a top league? :p
Because Henry's main quality is/was his pace. He lost that early on because of niggling injuries, especially the back injuries he got so frequently. In the past few years RVN has definitely been better. But at their best years, Henry was a monster and he just conquered the EPL, even while RVN was there.

What sort of player is so limited that he can't function at a high level just because he loses a bit of pace?

He might be a bit over reliant on his pace, but he used it to damn good effect, that is unarguable. Other than the past 2-3 years, he has always been better than Van Nistelrooy.

But there is a big difference between Del Piero's technique and Henry's technique. Del Piero's main strength was always his skill and technique, not his pace, so when he lost the latter, he could adapt. Players like Henry, like C.Ronaldo now, though to a lesser extent are primarily reliant on their pace. They lose that, and they've lost half their ability.

The idea is, when Henry was at his best, he was one of the best strikers in the world, and for at least 6-7 years that was.

i don't think so,henry was one of the purest strikers of teh ball in the world,he simply passed the ball into the net. Ronaldo, well while i agree his pace is a massive asset that is to undersell his phenomenal control

ok there i said it,i feel soooo dirty now
