Toni subject of Dortmund hoax
An announcement on Borussia Dortmund's website claiming the German club have signed Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni is the work of a hacker.
The 32-year-old World Cup winner is rumoured to be on his way out of Bayern after being sent to train with the reserve team by Louis van Gaal.
Dortmund director of sport Michael Zorc had a good laugh at the news, saying: “We would have to rob the Bank of England to buy Luca Toni.”
It isn't the first time someone has hacked the website of a German football club.
Schalke striker Kevin Kuranyi was the subject of a similar incident.
“Joking aside, while I ate dinner with my wife Vicky I left my mobile phone on silent and I wondered to myself why I was receiving so many calls,” Kuranyi said.
“A friend contacted me and explained that a false report was circulating about me. I am used to the fact my name is used for these things.”
