Many reasons for that.

- Lucio and van Buyten doing an awful central defense job, especially Lucio, they leave it all up to Kahn, who is world-class this season, but cannot stop Bayern losing on his own.
- The gap which Ballack's leave opened, has not been closed successfully. He's still missing a lot. Van Bommel, although playing good recently, is not a replacement for Ballack.
- World-Cup heroes like Schweinsteiger and Lahm struggled a lot trying to find their form from the summer and they're still not at 100%.
- Bayern's striker hope, Lukas Podolski did not get into them at the beginning of the season. He did not feel Felix Magath has faith in him. Claudio Pizarro only shined in CL. In the Bundesliga, he could hardly been seen on the pitch. So Makaay was mostly on his own and not in the form of his life in the first half of the season.

To be continued...
They lost a creative touch with Ze Roberto leaving.

Schalke will win it for sure if they win against Bayern next game.I want Bremen to win it this year but I doubt they'll make it.I must admit I like Dortmund the most in germany but they are deep in shit, hopefully they'll come back with their new Trainer Thomas Doll.

so.. Schalke to win it afterall?
still they need a bit to go imo.Next week is a big game, and i saw the highlights of the Stuttgart game and they ere very lucky to win.

Werder will push them all the way.
    What's wrong with Dortmund?
Dortmund should be in a much better spot looking at their squad. But the inconsistent performances by some their players put them in that position.
Especially their forwards and the lack of creativity in the midfield as well.

but still i think they will just make it and not get relegated.

    Klasnic's second kidney transplant successful

ZAGREB, March 23 (Reuters) - Croatia's international striker Ivan Klasnic has undergone a successful kidney transplant after the first attempt failed in January and his doctors said he could start training in a couple of months.

The Jutarnji List daily said the surgery was performed on March 16 at a Hanover clinic, with the donor being Klasnic's father. The first transplant was carried out in January but Klasnic's body rejected his mother's kidney.

'This time I didn't want to go public with the news of the surgery until the doctors were sure that my body had accepted a new organ,' Klasnic told the daily.

Croatia coach Slaven Bilic, whose side top Euro 2008 qualifying Group E, congratulated him on behalf of the national team.

'We have heard of the great news and we all wish him a speedy recovery and return to the pitch, as he really deserves it,' Bilic said.

Klasnic, 27, has played for Werder Bremen since 2001 and scored 42 goals. He has been on target eight times in his 26 caps for Croatia.

A row has broken out between the German Football Association (DFB) and Bundesliga leaders Schalke over coach Joachim Loew's decision not to release striker Kevin Kuranyi. Bayern Munich stars Lukas Podolski, Philipp Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger all returned home, along with Werder Bremen's Torsten Frings and Per Mertesacker, as well as Michael Ballack, Jens Lehmann and Bernd Schneider.

interesting situation there. DFB even agreed with Dortmund that they won't play Metzelder unless they need to.

But i think it will be good for Kevin, if he scores again his confidence will be sky high.So in the end Schalke could thank the Loew
