Noticed there wasnt a thread abt the Bundesliga, so i thought why not.

I think its going to be a tricky season for Bayern, although they r showing good potential in the begining but i dont think it is going to be as easy as it was last season.

I like Hamburg, but they r not playing very well and dropping behind. Werder look good but they need to be more disciplined if they think they would challenge this season, although they have been playing a very nice brand of football.

Schalke for me wont be on the same level to those 3 (although they have just beaten werder). But as the season goes on they will drop.

Dortmund have a good team but a bad coach, i hope they get to the Uefa cup next season.

Leverkusan and Stuttgart r way behind, they may cause a few upsets here and there but nothing more.

Werder Bremen's 100 percent record in Die Bundesliga came to an end on Friday evening as Schalke secured a 2-0 win at The Arena AufSchalke.

Werder have been in great form so far this term, but Schalke are unbeaten and it was they who took the three points with goals in each half.

The first arrived just seven minutes in when German international Kevin Kuranyi pounced.

Werder tried hard to get back into the game, but they could not find a way back and Schalke secured victory late on thanks to Hamit Altintop.

Bayern Munich will struggle to progress beyond the second round of the Champions League this season, according to the club's president Franz Beckenbauer.

The club lost their talismanic captain Michael Ballack to Chelsea this summer while Brazilian midfielder Ze Roberto has also left after turning down a new contract.

And although Mark van Bommel, Lukas Podolski and Daniel van Buyten have all been recruited in a bid to strengthen the squad, Beckenbauer fears Bayern will not be able to better last season's performance in Europe, which saw them crash out in the round of 16 following a 5-2 aggregate loss to AC Milan.

"We are no stronger than last year," the former Germany star said.

"Players have left and they need to be replaced.

"Last season, maybe the management built up too much pressure, but now we are lowering our expectations and being more realistic."

Van Bommel "still needs time to settle in", while Podolski "must sooner or later hold down a regular starting place," according to Beckenbauer.

Nevertheless, the 60-year-old does expect his club to win their opening Champions League Group B fixture against Spartak Moscow next Tuesday.

He added: "If you want to progress in the Champions League, you must beat sides like Spartak Moscow."

    well Munich lost :D...

Hamburg lost again and continue this dissappointing results, and there were news that Benny Lauth and another player were banned by the coach cuz they were causing problems in the team.

Werder continue there inconsistent start and lost after they 2-0 up against stuttgart.I think their defense is very weak and disorganised. They will welcome Merterascker back with open arms from his injury.

Good to see Dortmund winning.Getting them back in form will give the league a very interesting look.

Schalke r playing now and r losing.
So the league could be anyones to take as all the teams r not being consistent.Interesting to say the least

    Kehl still out

German international Sebastian Kehl's injury nightmare looks set to continue after the defensive midfielder was forced to pull out of his first training session with his team.

A knee problem has meant that the 25-year-old Dortmund star has already missed a large part of the new Bundesliga season.

He was hopeful of re-joining his team-mates in the squad to face Borussia Monchengladbach when he suffered the setback.

BVB coach Bert Van Marwijk declared: "He looks set to miss another two weeks," after the player reported a heavy pain in his left knee.

Werder Bremen’s director of sport Klaus Allofs has increased the pressure on his team ahead of the much-awaited Northern derby at Hamburg.

Bremen appeared to be in fine form after winning their opening two Bundesliga games following their triumph in the German League Cup.

But four straight defeats — including a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge — sent Thomas Schaaf’s team back down to earth.

“We were prematurely celebrating after the first games, but unfortunately my sceptical views proved to be true,” stressed Allofs.

“We are currently far away from where we want to be and it has proved again that it’s not enough to talk about big aims.

"We have to back up our words with success on the pitch,” he snapped after a series of disappointing performances which reached its peak when the team failed to preserve a 2-0 lead over Stuttgart in their 3-2 home defeat.

With World Cup star Miroslav Klose and fellow striker Ivan Klasnic still doubtful for the trip to the AOL-Arena, Allofs demands that the rest of the squad must be prepared for a tough fight.

“We have to play like a team again, which means that one player must be ready to support the other one.

"We must get back on track very soon,” the former striker warned.

Injury-plagued Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Deisler has returned to training with the club's amateur team squad.

The 26-year-old missed Germany's World Cup campaign after picking up a knee problem, the fifth major injury of his career, in March.

He has now come through his first training session in six months, much to the delight of his Bayern employers.

However, chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has stressed that Deisler will not be rushed back into Bundesliga action.

"He is looking very stable at the moment and I hope that he will be back in our squad as soon as possible," said Rummenigge.

"But he has been sidelined for over six months and so despite our optimism we must be very patient as far as a complete recovery is concerned."

Fellow long-term injury victim Andreas Gorlitz also returned to training alongside Deisler.

"Both of them went through the whole programme and didn't hold back in tackles," commented Bayern's amateur boss Hermann Gerland.

Borussia Monchengladbach moved to the top of Die Bundesliga after a 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.

Brazilian forward Kahe was the match-winner for the home side thanks to his 39th minute strike as Dortmund suffered their second loss of the season.

Kahe was the main threat from the start for the hosts as he called Roman Weidenfeller into a neat stop after 25 minutes.

Dortmund's Swiss international striker Alexander Frei showed uncharacteristic hesitancy on 38 minutes when he allowed the home defence to get back and clear their lines, and Kahe made him pay almost immediately.

The Samba star slotted his shot past Weidenfeller after a cross from Oliver Kirsch to hand all three points to Monchengladbach.

    Bayern 2 - Aachen 1

Champions come from behind to go top

Graft rather than champagne football saw the champions mark the Oktoberfest with a hard-fought victory over lively Alemannia Aachen.

A 69,000 full house at the Allianz Arena saw a cagey opening followed by an explosive couple of minutes at the end of the first half.

Aachen midfielder Sascha Dum handed the promoted visitors a shock 38th minute lead with a deflected free-kick, only for Claudio Pizarro to head his side level 120 seconds later.

Mark van Bommel fired Bayern in front for the first time early in the second half and Bayern threatened to run riot for a time, but the Reds took their collective foot off the gas, perhaps with one eye already on Wednesday's trip to face Inter Milan.

That almost proved costly and Aachen even came within an ace of an equaliser, but the Bavarians will ultimately be happy enough with the three points.

The result sends the Reds to the top of the standings for the first time this term, albeit only on goals scored from Schalke and with previous leaders Nuremberg playing on Sunday.
