Watched Kenobi ep 3

Suprised we got an Obi-Wan x Vader battle this early on, then again it's only a 6 episode series. The brutality of Vader in this ep was welcome contrast to the more child friendly 1&2, that fire scene was great (except for the unbelievable fact they managed to escape at the end, like c'mon just walk around it). Not sure how they're going to get Obi-Wan from being this washed up to being ready for the rematch (if there is one in ep 6), he's gonna need some Rocky 3/4 level training from Qui-Gon, Vader was toying with him 1-handed this round. Also James Earl Jones is the goat.
It was so poorly choreographed it looked like a fan-made scene. The writing in this show is just terrible as well. What a shame.

And people are defending this show like if it was some kind of a masterpiece. At this point we should surrender with Star Wars, the target audience is the same people that loves Marvel movies. I wished they could exploit the Star Wars universe much better and create movies similar to Dune or the Lord of the Rings but it won’t happen. They won’t even try since George Lucas tried to add politics in the prequels, and received an extreme backlash from the fans (yes, Jar Jar was a big mistake and many things of the prequels are wrong but they were many other things very good).

Watched all 3 episodes now, last 2 today. And they have a built in world with major lore, box office setting, and they seemed to give the writing to some 70's level comics cliche amateur writer lol. Like how? So many weak and cringe scenes and dialogue for no reason. Reva character is a bad cartoon villain, the major fight looked so off as you said. And lots of meandering filler down time and making the title character Obi Wan completely useless so far.

Best part of the 3 episodes is the kid playing Leia. She's fantastic. And the brutality of Vader this episode.

They have a long long road ahead to reach the charm and entertainment level of the Mandalorian.

You've pretty much nailed it. Imma just leave some further thoughts in the spoiler below for anyone to read, so it doesnt get spoiled for other folk.
Imma just say that Reva is mostly what's bringing down this series. Her relevance in this series and her acting just seems so...forced/unnecessary? She comes across as unrealistic and wooden, she seems to know things that she shouldnt according to canon, such as Anakin being Vader and she seems so over the top. Let's not even talk about that ridiculous parkour scene in episode 2. I think the directors wanted to convey her as this badass stoic woman but the end product was just a cringey, annoying mess of a character. Ended up stabbing the Grand Inquisitor (the only exciting villain other than Vader in this series and who I was really excited to see develop) to death, seemingly, breaking canon in the process. But no doubt the producers are gearing her up to be the hero of the show by the end. I can see a very predictable, boring redemption arc coming. But alas, I'll wait and see.

As for Leia, contrary to what some fans are complaining about Id agree with you that her acting was pretty darn good for a 10 year old. Looks a splitting image of a younger carrie fisher too. It's a pity that yet again the directors gave her terrible scenes to act out, like those 2 chase scenes. Youre telling me a group of fully grown adults couldnt catch a little girl? LOL. Makes no sense.

The reunion of Ben and Vader was very rushed too. Didnt feel emotional at all, partly because the music score was so shit (no imperial march, seriously?!?) and partly because of the timing. I get that it's only 6 episodes but they could have used at least 1 episode to let obi wan process that revelation. Along with the poor choreography, the fight scene also didnt make much logical sense either. Why didnt Vader just drag Kenobi back into the fire with the force instead of letting him go? I've seen some diehards try justifying this with reasoning along the lines of "well he was just toying with him and let him go intentionally" - ok so why did he order the stormtroopers to go and get him then? Lol. Also how did Reva suddenly turn up at the end of the tunnel where Leia was escaping from?

Anyway, rant over. I'm hoping the next 3 episodes make up for this disappointment of a show thus far but I wont get my hopes up. There is too much of a cheesy disney feel to this series. Probably suited for 5 year olds but not for the older demographics. You would have thought for a make-or-break show like kenobi (given Disney's unpopularity among the fanbase) they'd play it safe by bringing in Filoni to direct it, but no they decided to bring in some random who no one has ever heard of. Like the sequels, so much potential to be great but ultimately a let down.
The only saving grace with this show is Ewan's acting and having the likes of Hayden Christensen + James Earl Jones back

Agreed with every word except they aren't gonna redeem reva to a hero. She's straight up poorly written cartoon villain lol. And I thought that Parkour scene would lead to action scene to explain its use, but nope lol. Obi wan kenobi just runs from every fight lol

Also is Hayden Christensen back? You think they gonna use him besides that brief mirage like flash moment? Or is that him under the water tank in disfigured vader mode?

And yeah Leila, a 10 year old slowly running away made no sense Ewan Mcgregor is great actor, but they truly depowered and misused his character so far. And why would anyone complain about young Leila? She is wonderful so far. Fine balance of a helpess adorable kid and smart and perceptive enough to show the future adult leqxer she is destined to be.

Disney hit and miss, they do well with marvel stuff mostly. But they are so far a joke with Star Wars, the movies and these 3 kenobi episodes. The rare success is Mandalorian. Quite entertaining. Feels like an 80s adventure show.

Star Wars needs to make up its mind if its woke or not

star-wars-china-poster-controversy.jpg
Is this news? Core competence of the woke crowd is to be exclusively forcing that shit down the Western throat for guilt shekels, while steering clear of China and the Middle East slavers

Like when LeBald James was kneeling (bcs cops killed a drug dealer) and then proceeded to spread Chinese propaganda about Hong Kong

Yes, indeed it is him! Even in the water tank as well. I'll give that to disney, at least they nailed the prosthetics.

If the official concept art is anything to go by, it looks like kenobi and vader will face off again on Mustafa, presumably in the last episode. Perhaps at the climax vader removes his helmet and obi wan is, regrettably for him, finally presented with the unrecognisable face of his old apprentice? That I think would add some shock value and emotion. Idk, I am only theorizing. Maybe we see a de-aged version of him in some flashbacks. Maybe they wont show his face at all. But it would be pretty cool if they did.

Prepared to be surprised. If the internet leaks are true
then reva is going to be Ina position to kill Luke but she somehow refuses to do it, reports back to Vader and tells him that he lost obi-wan and she's killed by Vader.

Anyway they murder obi wan's character.
Made him a coward, incompetent buffoon.
He literally had one job, to watch over Luke and he didn't even do that right.
Remember that in the first episode reva specifically told Owen that she is coming for his family (Luke included), next time, yet obi wan somehow decides to go off planet, which is very dumb of him.
The show is downright garbage. Terrible written, terrible acted and a disgrace.
A punch to the gut for the obi wan character, who theoretically is supposed to be a Jedi Master(lol). He probably graduated 8/12 classes and was promoted based on nepotism.

There is another important point to add to the Kenobi discussion and is that Kenobi is an extremely great jedi in Rebels and A New Hope. There is no way that he will develop from nothing (where he is now) to that point in just 9-10 years. Not even by being in communion with Qui-gon. Also, what is the point of him being so broken about Anakin? He already went through things much worst and overcame them (Qui-gon death, Satine death, etc). Even in episode III he was capable of fighting against Anakin after receiving the news of Anakin becoming Vader!
