I have to agree with the Sheik on this. I almost gave up on it a few episodes in ... it got a little too supernatural/ghoulish for me in its storytelling. But there have been redeeming moments, some decent acting, and they have paced well how the story evolves. It's in my meh-to-decent list.
I liked their fresh take on vampires even though it essentially is a vampire-zombie mashup. But the characters had enough about them to keep me interested. I'm kinda looking forward to the next season, even though I have a feeling it won't be as good as the first. We'll see.

Gotham seems decent so far.

Acting is pretty good (bar few scenes from the second episode). Then again, I think it's pretty meh how Bruce is already in the Batman shoes, which kinda sucks. It's also pretty annoying how Selina is already a Cat woman. I wish they delayed that a bit (same goes with Bruce parents being killed, in the first episode, really?)...

Still, it has potential.
It's a good show, but I think they're trying too hard to show who certain characters become when they become old enough for Batman. It definitely has potential, and I hope they do a better job at exploring pre-Batman Gotham and not simply kissing the asses of Batman fans.

I gave up on it after 2 episodes, so I should keep watching since it improves?
Give it another episode and see if it fondles your balls. If not, then it ain't for ya.

is 'The Strain' good?
if zombies are your thing, might be worth a shot as long as you don't pay too much attention to their trying too hard to put together a half-decent plot that makes some sort of sense. A lot of unnecessary, not to mention downright stupid and enervating moments in there too. Character development and dialogue are shallow at best ... but if you really like zombies, the overused and at times even laughable special effects might distract you from all the shortcomings of the show. Quite frankly, way too often I am not sure if I should treat it as comedy or horror.

And yes, I have seen the entire season 1 in hopes of it finally blossoming into something good. The Walking Dead is far from perfect but, for a zombie-horror show, it is in a whole different universe compared to The Strain, imo. Then again, to each his own.

Let's be honest here and say it out loud - it is yet another pathetic attempt at resurrecting an overused topic ... even Arrow is better than this Batman-without-Batman drivel :p
The moment they announced it was going to be on Fox, I knew it was gonna be garbage. Maybe HBO/FX/AMC don't get involved with this type of plots for a reason ...

If you didn't like it after the first 2 episodes, I find it hard to believe you will enjoy the rest. Personally, I liked those early couple of episodes the best because back then the show at least had potential ... the potential of not going in the direction it's been headed in since then.

Utopia has been cancelled. There won't be a third season.
Well, that was quick. I myself have yet to start watching it but have heard mostly good things about it.

A couple of British shows with potential I am looking into now - The Driver and Peaky Blinders.
The Divide (WE TV) seems interesting too.

I never gave it a go.. kinda. :D Actually just today I thought about pirates and I felt sad how there's not enough stuff about them.

I remember Osman talked about Black Sails a while ago and I decided to watch it, but after seeing the first episode I just couldn't go on lol. I thought acting was quite bad and those actors were really repulsive, I didn't like any single character from that first episode! So I was kinda let down.
