I don’t get now shit like this passes. They’re actively pushing for voter suppression and succeeding.
It’s a Supreme Court case which invalidated parts of 1965 voting rights act. 5-4 since conservatives had (and have) the majority. They had some good points on congress inaction since 1965 but nevertheless it enabled some states and counties to start restricting access.
