Microsoft just announced Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the original 2006 game (it's actually a remaster of the remaster if we consider Gears of War: Ultimate Edition that was released in 2015) that will launch on August 26 on Xbox, PC and ... wait for it ... PlayStation. This will have 4K resolution, 60 FPS in Campaign, and 120 FPS in Multiplayer.

I'll give my 2 cents as a hardcore fanatic of Gears (it is my most loved and played series)... this is actually great news. With the recent announcement of the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day, it's a good strategy to release Gears 1 on PlayStation. The original Gears fanbase has mostly moved on. Only hardcore players like myself have hung around. Given that E-Day is a prequel to the entire franchise, Gears 1 is a nice drop-in point to loop in new players. It's only a matter of time before they release a Gears of War collection and remaster Gears 2 & 3.

I can't believe Gears of War will be on PS5 before GTA 6.

Microsoft have officially given up on console hardware IMO. They are a software company, and it's only a matter of time before Game Pass is accessible on PS5. Halo on PS5 is all but inevitable.
