LIS: Before The Storm is actually my favorite.

If you like those kind of games, I liked Twin Mirror and Tell Me Why, and LIS: True Colors as well.

Edit: Before The Storm is my favorite because Daughter made the soundtrack, and I'm a fan :p

The music in all their games are perfection. Timing, theme, tempo, style, everything - just perfect. I remember my first minutes in the first game getting immersed just from the music. Later trying to force my friend to play it despite knowing he hates puzzles and walking simulators.
Added Twin Mirror to my wishlist on PS5 and will later check if my cpu can manage Tell me why. True colors was awesome too, very different type of story compared to life is strange 2. Thanks for the suggestions, now I will wait for the perfect weekend when I can really dig in. I love these kind of games that get you the feeling of reading a really, really good book but with your fantasy played out in front of you.

I too am guilty of trying to force people to play the games

Tell Me Why and Twin Mirror are both from dontnod as well iirc. So if one likes LIS, chances are they like those two as well. And just like in LIS, I just love the setting of both games. They just always nail that scenic small town setting.

That snowy Alaska setting in Tell Me Why is gorgeous as hell. Might just play it again over the weekend now

Also, don't let mixed reviews fool you, I knew it were dontnod games, so I knew what to expect from them, and I got just that.

Did anyone else find Ghost a bit too repetitive? It look incredible but I got bored pretty quickly, felt too much like the ubisoft system of repetitive shit.

The story and open world was repetitive, but the combat system was absolutely fucking brilliant. It's why I loved it. That and the world was scenic and beautiful.

I liked the story, the combat, and the world itself. What I found repetitive was the random "Mongol attacking civilian" events, as they seemed to happen quite a lot and also in places where you've supposedly 100% liberated, which didn't make sense to me.

I felt the game was super repetitive and though it had very gorgeous graphics for the most part, visual bugs and some aspects of the game felt very dated. I slogged through it and definitely think its an okay/decent game but its in no way some insanely amazing game or some shit.

It's open world is okay but after playing games like RDR2, Witcher 3, etc, the open-world feels A LOT more lifeless and empty than I anticipated for a modern game. Even Ubisoft open-worlds don't feel as empty imo. Don't get me started on the absolutely braindead AI. I loved the combat but felt it was wasted because I'm fighting some of the dumbest AI I've ever encountered in a combat game. And thats me playing on Lethal.

Its all fair critique about the flaws of its mechanics. They all dead on. It's far from RD2 or Witcher 3 so if anyone expects that they will be dissapointed.

I liked the period it depicted, how beautiful it was and the awesome combat, so I enjoyed it despite those imperfect aspects.

To each his own.

Love the period it depicted and that probably made me more annoyed that its just didn't click for me. I don't think anybody who is a fan of the game is crazy or anything. It has the pieces. I just feel like any attempt to make it out to be anything more than just a decent game is kinda hard for me to grasp.

This might be a spicy take but I felt Days Gone had a way better world and AI but was an inferior game for various reasons.

Days gone built the world up in fantastic way, didn't play it much, watched my brother play it. It sets the mood really well.

But I wish it was just a dystopia about world ending and it's human vs human end of times conflict. I just can't stand zombie games (except resident evil 2), or were the main enemy are monsters of any kind.

It's why I liked the Mad max game, dystopia in desert and all your enemies are humans. Much more grounded and easier to immerse into for me.

Started playing Cyberpunk 2077 (with the Phantom Liberty DLC) recently and I gotta say it's one of the best video games I've ever played. Fantastic story and gameplay. It's what Fallout could've been if it wasn't stuck in the 2000s.
