My counterargument is that I think a lot of people are absolutely clueless how some of their attitudes and biases about gays are rooted mostly in hate and persecution, the only difference being that institutions and long-standing social mores don't dissuade it.

It doesn't make what Andy did good or even "right", but I think it's done the best of any post in this entire thread to demonstrate the level of persecution and hate that many of these cultural or religious backgrounds allow or even outright encourage.

I've never hide it the fact that my religious beliefs play a major role in what i think be it about gays or about any other subject. first of all me thinking that homosexuality is not right or not genetic or not natural and me questioning some arguments that mean i'm hating nor you'll see me hunting gays in the street nor calling them names , it's their choice and everyone is entiteled to do what he wants. But doesn't mean i should accept that to be labelled liberal or modern or democrate. These religious background are my right and my choice like it's theirs to be gay and being against some concept or some idea even if affected by my religious beleifs doesn't make a hater or biased or....Because maybe you see this homosexuality as right but i see it wrong, and i expressed it in a respectful manner even if they were some racist comments from get go because in the eye of some people here muslim=ignorant. But in any way it's acceptable or to quote you "it's done the best of any post" that an ignorant piece of shit like that scumbag called Andy to mock my religion or my prophete, but i should know better coming from some an ignorant pathetic piece of dirt.

Naw. You answered me. The counterpoint is that a lot of cultural institutions mock gays. I know a lot of gays who feel a lot of anger and hurt by culturally accepted institutions that will claim they are their own personal undoing of sin and evil. Meanwhile, many gays feel that their attraction to men (or women to women) is no more their "choice" than the fact that they like chocolate instead of vanilla ice cream. So what you have is a society that labels them as sick and wrong for who they are, despite their own wishes for a more "convenient" and socially acceptable lifestyle. To them, that's like condemning someone for being short.

But understand that even I can't say "hello" to Andy these days without him wishing a thousand deaths upon my pathetic old man existence.
