Gallas one of three to leave in clear-out

William Gallas intends to leave Chelsea this summer after five years at the club, with Juventus, Barcelona and Milan the leaders for his signature. But Didier Drogba and Shaun Wright-Phillips are not for sale, the club's chief executive Peter Kenyon said yesterday.

Gallas, 28, is unhappy at being moved from centre-back to full-back and has one year left on his contract. He is one of three players that Kenyon said will leave.

Gallas said: "I don't know if I will stay because I am a man who wants to win everything, and I want to do that in different countries. Maybe next season I will be somewhere else. I need to speak with the manager.

"I have been here five years and maybe that is enough. You are fortunate when you are a footballer that you have the opportunity to play in a different country. I am someone who wants to play in another championship. Barcelona and Milan - we will see
."

Kenyon said Chelsea also plan to acquire three players - Michael Ballack included - and admitted his relationship with Jose Mourinho is occasionally difficult. He told BBC Radio Five Live: "Things happened and everybody moves on."

I must say, I am very impressed at our rivalry with Milan...its probably one of the best Rivalry out there...one of the healthier if this informal agreement is true...

So respectfull of one another....

I say we can do without Oddo anyways...we got the better bargain..TRUST ME...Gallas is what we need...

Balzerrati has shown me that he cann handle right back, much much better than Zebina...and Gallas can be cover at RB as well!!

If gallas is unhappy at playing in centre back for chelsea then that doesnt necessarily mean he will be happy at centre back for us when needed..

I no thuram and Cannavaro are coming to the end of their great career's but I think those are the people we need to start next year, the vets. I dont know what's wrong with thuram maybe he doesnt feel he fits into capello's plans. I think we need to start talking about Chiellini and make him a dominate player because I'm sure he will have a great career. I dont think it's our defence that we need to stock up on, i think its our midfielders that need to have better games for us, emerson and vieria were playing amazing at the start of the season and they really controlled the play but they aren't young and they couldn't keep up the pace the whole season.

i don't think it's unrealistic that gallas would join us.
we have a lot of french players
true he might mostly play rb first season, but thuram will soon end his career and gallas would use his 1. season to adapt and learn from thuram, so with cb in sight and as thuram's successor i think moggi can pursuade him

Gallas will start as our CB next season if he joins ....i see Thuram droping to bench next season, Capello alredy start droping him this season ....even if we dunt get Gallas i see a new partner for Canna next season ..Thuram is a certainty for the bench .

Of course, the players have shown in on the pitch as well. That's y u don't see Juventus and Milan directors fighting each other through the media.

I do agree with ur Gallas suggestion. He is still doubtful of his future. Concerning Balzaretti, I think that his strength is his left leg and he seems to be unable to control his strength that well with his right. I would consider shifting Balzaretti to the left and Zambrotta to the right again, even though I prefer a decent RB.

yeah I've noticed that, but having a transfer truths is not at all what you'd expect from Rivals.

yeah, I know Balzeretti is best at lefback, but I see less of Zambo's fantastic runs down the right...I personally prefer the 3-5-2 formation if we get gallas with Zambo and Balzeretti the wingbacks, they're both fast enough to play these positions..and I seriously would consider starting Kovac in that formation as opposed to Thuram..I just think his fitness levels have dropped and looks so unfocused at times.

of course with Cappy we'll only play 4-4-2

I agree with you in total.
It is a must for Juve to find another top midfielder alongside with Puma.Viera is a dissapoinment.

moratti, moggi and galliani all talk to each other the prevent any major bidding war, unlike the stubborn english who fight over everyone, i mean you put david dein (arsenal) kenyon (chelsea) and Gil (man utd) all in 1 room, hell would be unleashed.

Gallas all set for Milan Tuesday 9 May, 2006 (channel4, football italia)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan have already tabled a bid for Chelsea defender William Gallas, according to reports in France on Tuesday.

The stopper has recently admitted that he will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer and Milan were instantly associated.

Now the L’Equipe newspaper has suggested that the Rossoneri are well on the way to signing the international.

Milan are looking to rejuvenate their defence given the age of Marcos Cafu, Paolo Maldini and Billy Costacurta.

They also require some fresh blood as they will lose Jaap Stam in the summer after he agreed a two-year deal with Ajax.

Gallas, also linked with Juventus and Barcelona, could complete his switch to the San Siro before the World Cup Finals.
