English defenders in particular. Owen, Gerrard and Lampard are okay, but who wouldn't hate Terry or Ferdinand?!

Rooney is a top draw and easily underestimatd by the plethora of anti-english, but there is also a lot to dislike about him.

i can assure u he is not overated. He may appear overated, especially his fee, but the majority of people dont rate him that highly. Its hard to explain, but there is kinda a love hate relationship, many people will back him to the sun,or others who think he is a lanky waste of money.

Im of the latter group.

Yeah, but everybody is overrated nowadays. Nobody is really worth 10 million euros, it's ludacris. So who cares if he overrated, there's no need to hate on him. It's not his fault he's overrated.

Sure they are. Commercially. Why do you think Madrid's shirt numbers and names are so distinctive?

I'd agree. That said his attitude is his fault - few things are more galling than a great player who couldn't be bothered.

You say Ferdinand was great before and this year something has happened to him in Man Utd I think it is the team that affects him just like Cannavaro when he was at Inter so maybe if Ferdinand comes to Turin maybe he would return to his old self

Sorry, but I couldn't really care less about the commercial value of anything, much less football. Anyone who does sickens me, quite frankly.

In a purely football sense, no player is worth ten million pounds. Ajax has shown that developing players is far less expensive and more effective than buying them. The only reason that teams buy so many players today is for the commercial aspect of it, and it sickens me.
