Today, it is the 31st year anniversary since Scirea left this world. Since i started being a Juve fan in 2003 and after everything i have learned about our history and past players since, Scirea and John Charles remain my two most favourite Juventus players ever, that were before my time, before i ever had the chance to watch a single game of theirs.
Scirea is the only historical Juventus player i have ever bought a Juventus shirt from and i wore it proudly and stoicly. Something about the man, the player and most of all, the persona of Scirea just gives me the feeling that i am a better man just by putting on a Juventus shirt that has the name "Scirea" on.
Im not just saying this to be dramatic or anything, i really mean it. This years jersey will say Charles on it to honor my other favourite legend.
Today, we remember Gaetano Scirea who died on the 3rd of Semptember 1989, 6 months after i was born.
Forza Gaetano, i, for one, will never forget you.
