Why searching a winger backup if we don't want to play with wingers?

And if you,by any chance suggesting that it's better keeping Poulsen than buying Melo.....we have good neurologists over here
we already have Marchisio for that role and Poulsen as his backup, so there really is no need to waste money on Melo (even though he is a fantastic player)...and Camo is pretty injury-prone these past couple of years, we have to replace him eventually

Melo-Sissoko would be very hard to beat, though. We can allow having 4 attacking players in front of them.
Or Camo next to them (like that Ramires kid in Brazil) with Diego and two attackers or Diego-Giovinco and an attacker up top.

All we'll need in such formation is a Maicon at RB and we'll be ready to rock.

he certainly isn't the Camo backup...doesn't even play the same style or position...signing D'Ago, like I have said before, is a luxury, not a necessity

I know he isn't. We are going to be 4-3-1-2 next season, and only thing why we'll have Camoranesi in team is cuz he gave so much to the team. In any other case, the board would get rid of him like they announced ridding of MArchionni. We need that 3rd CM,an allrounder,so it's either D'Ago or Melo. My vote would go to Melo, seeing him this year in Fiorentina and now in Brazil...

According to our economic status we are unable to spend that kind of money, which makes the D'ago deal make more sense, no?

So basically a 4-2-2-2 formation? Would be great but where do we get quality wingbacks?

You hit the nail on the head!

According to what I read yesterday there is about 5M left in our transfer budget.
This does obviously not take into account any possible future sales, loans, etc. I'm not sure if the sale of Mellberg was calculated in this amount, iirc it wasn't.
