You disagree cuz you don't watch football at all. Marchionni made his name in 4-3-3 formation in parma alongside Gilardino and Rinaldo back then and he was often caught on scoresheet what actually sold him to Juve.
Oh ok because I have a differing opinion I don't watch football, thanks for the constructive debate.:andyandbarcelona:

Marchionni can play in both positions but I prefer to see him in a 4-4-2 as he has classic winger attributes about him, he has never really scored goals (about the same as Nedved in his best season, is he a left forward now?) and the comments from his agent also suggest he prefers to play as a right winger. In fact looking at what the player has said in the past he is happy in 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 on the right or left.

Regardless my point remains with what his agent said about our formation, so are we playing a right wing forward or a right midfielder?

I read from one of Gasparin's (Udinese's sportive director?) interviews that he did try to persuade Giovinco to go to Udinese by suggesting that he would get much more playing time there. But still, there is nothing to suggest that Juventus had or has the intention to give Giovinco to Udinese. On the contrary, both Blanc and Gigli have confirmed about him staying in interviews.
Nothing to suggest that Juventus will let Marchisio leave neither.
Only De Ceglie seems not that unmovable. He and Marchisio have the same agent who said in an interview two days ago:
“I’ve read in the papers that it was a no-go. As far as the two players are concerned, I reiterate that Marchisio in un-transferable and De Ceglie does not want to leave.”
He didn't say De Ceglie was un-transferable like he described for Marchisio, but rather "does not want to leave". Also yesterday De Ceglie made an interview with Gazzetta and he said something like: "It's not problem of Udinese. I respect them and other clubs. I want to emphasize that I don't want to be good for exchange and I will not be." (http://www.vecchiasignora.com/index.php?showtopic=98396)

So IMO, either De Ceglie will be persuaded to go (which is unlikely) or the board will think other ways to make the deal with all three youngsters staying.

offer another players like almiron, edkal on loan or some1 else
or just sell players like almiron, tiago and offer more money
That's easier said than done.

Last I checked, Udinese wasn't a dumping ground for other people's garbage.

And in regards to Ekdal, why isn't he even in the picture here??

Is there some flaw in his game that we don't know about?

A loan for Ekdal means we'll never see him again, and I'd bet a lot of money on that.
That's not true. First there will be a loan, then a co-ownership, during which he'll be very succesful at Atalanta and then it'll look like we want him back, so we win him with this odd envelope thing and then we sell him to Napoli.

I'd think we'd lose him in the lottery.

God, I hate co-ownerships and loans.

Udinese has nothing to demand here. Sure, they have every right to push us to get the best possible deal, but the fact is the player wants to join us. Truth is, D'Ago is not worth more then 15m and Udinese know that, they'll give in eventually.

In the end, I think it will be something like 10m + one of Paolucci/Lanzafame/Ekdal.

I dont see any other teams stacking up to get him. And the player himself is not delusional! He knows that this is the best offer he will ever get. At the most overhyped moment of his carrier, he has an offer for a greater FC.

Soon or later, they will be forced to comply... They only need a reality check!

Exactly...

Just keep toying with them until they give up and accept an offer. We are in no hurry for him, and we will not give our prospects for this fellow.

Take it or leave it.

 who CARES what Udinese wants? they are well within their rights to demand a better deal for themselves...we won't be held ransom for a player that has only one serious buyer...let them have their fun, in the end they will sell him to us...they are a selling club and most importantly, the player himself wants to join Juve

I think there is a danger that we've become too parsimonious when assessing the values of players.

I remember the voices of shock horror last year when £17m was mentioned when Xabi Alonso was well advanced by Secco. Only later to be scuppered by that hapless prat Ranieri.

£20M - £21m would appear to be a fair price for this guy.

1. Good word.

2. There is no way D'Ago is worth £20M - £21m. £12-14m tops.

@ Cronios, Hydde & Ahmed

Thanks for more or less repeating what I said :D

But seriously, people should stop worrying about Gio and Marchisio being included in the deal, it's not gonna happen. I'm positive that the board can pull off a good deal.

Udinese HAVE offers from other clubs like :inter: and a couple of English clubs but he wants ONLY Juve. It's not like nobody else wants him.

£12-14m tops.
Yeah but £14m is too much imo.

I'd say D'Agostino's price should be AT MOST what we paid for Tiago in 2007, around 13-14m EUR (not pound). Tiago was 26 and he already had lots of experience playing for Portugal, Lyon, Chelsea where he was solid or even very good.
Next season D'Agostino might play just as well as he played this year, or even better, but one very good season in Udinese does not make the price of a 27 year old midfielder higher than 13-14m eur.
Like Sissoko who was bought for 11-12m eur or Tiago for ~13m eur. It was realistic price at the time.

Imo something between 8 and 12 mil euro is realistic for D'Agostino.
