Yep. Motta will be put into another deal with someone. Pepe will be a backup.
I assume Motta would only have a decent value in a deal with another italian club. Lazio/Lichtsteiner-deal? Palermo/Cassani-deal?

I don't like Motta beeing a part of the deal, unless Marotta is certain that Motta will be sold or take part in a larger deal.

Pepe will make for a decent backup, which is what he should have always been in the first place. Especially with the exception of Coppa Italia matches, there won't be any more midweek fixtures that would deplete the energy of the starting XI and therefore create a NEED for him to be starting so often.

Motta, well..............................................................I'm just wondering who would be crazy enough to make a deal for him

I wouldn't be surprised if, eventually, part of the deal that would bring Inler to Juve involves Juve signing Pepe on a permanent basis, maybe not for 7 or 10 mil or whatever the original agreement was but for 2-3 mil less. Pepe has lost quite a bit of his market value after this terrible year at Juve and I would expect Pozzo to at least try to force Marotta into signing him, considering how "crazy" you guys seem to be about Inler, not to mention your interest in Sanchez.
Actually, now that I mentioned the chillean, I wouldn't be suprised to see Motta sign a perm. contract too ... it's what I'd do if I had Marotta by the balls like Pozzo seems to :D

I'm sure they'll try that sort of thing.

They would do well to remember the negotiations with Juve over D'Agostino, though.

They were making unreasonable demands (so Juve signed Melo) and Udinese ended up getting a poor deal when they sold D'Agostino a year later.

Motta and pepe on a cheap contract, to land inler and sanchez for a resonabale fee, i could live with that.

why ?

because in a good team, pepe will be halfdecent, and motta, wel, he can come on the field, break messi's leg, and get back of or something

If we are signing Pepe for back up, where would that leave Martinez and what about Bastos? It means Bastos is going start on the left hand side of the midfield if we did sign him. Not good at all.

We can get Pepe for 6 and immediately sell him for the same price to 80% of the serie A teams. It will only cost us the loan deal money and his last year's wages. Motta can also be used in a player exchange.
It doesn't matter. If buying Pepsi and the clown is the way to buy Inler and Sanchez, then we should do it.

So Udinese did confirm that he rejected Napoli terms.

That should seal the deal for us.

Thumbs up for Nicko!
:agree: ... when a player wants a certain team and that team reciprocates back, the cake is all but sliced and eaten :D ... now only a nubie of a manager would let it slip thru ... as long as Marotta is ready to be patient and play the waiting game and not act like a kid in a candy store, I'd bet Nicko's left nut that you guys can get Inler, and with some luck maybe even Sanchez, at a reasonable price by the end of the transfer season :D ... you just have to play it cool ;)
