Dino Lamberti, the agent of
Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler, has revealed that his client has reached an agreement with
Juventus, and that both clubs are currently discussing a fee.
Meanwhile, Serie A rivals
Napoli have previously reached an agreement with Udinese regarding the transfer of the Switzerland international, but have not yet agreed terms with the player himself.
Lamberti confirmed that both clubs were chasing the player, telling
Il Corriere dello Sport: "Napoli have already reached an agreement with Udinese, unlike Juventus. However, I have already been in touch with Juventus, but have yet to hear something from Napoli.
"I do not know why Napoli have not contacted me yet, but they are doing things the right way. The rules say that they have to agree terms with the club first before approaching the player. Juventus also had contact with Udinese first, though, before getting in touch with me."
Inler's representative then went on to state that the fact that Napoli have qualified for Champions League football and Juventus have not, will not affect his final decision on where to play next season.
"The most important things for Gokhan are the club's ambitions and the plans of the technical staff. He is eager to win something. Playing Champions League football is not a crucial factor for him."
The 26-year-old midfielder's current contract with Udinese runs until 2013, but it appears likely that he will move on before the start of the 2011-12 campaign.
