Italian coaches are prestigious around Europe, it is one of the premier coaching schools. The recycling of experienced coaches is to be expected as they don't see the necessity to go abroad as they believe their coaches are up there with the best. English managers in comparison are few and far between, or not seen as good as foreign coaches, so their clubs will inevitably sign whichever foreign coach whose stock is high and in demand. They have the opposite problem to Italy. I also think it's much easier to transplant a Dutch coach into English football, for various reasons. And then you've got the issue that the best foreign coaches will want to go to England or Spain ahead of Italy. Serie A is full of the experienced Italians and those cutting their teeth.

Roma have tried a mix of Italians, foreign coaches from calcio, and external, the latter of which all failed. Inter's foreign coaches during Moratti's era all failed bar post-Farsopoli Mourinho. Milan have tried two Portuguese coaches in a row and both failed. You can see why they revert to their "safe mode". But it's quite a small sample, and obviously many more Italians have also failed in the past 30 years.

I like the idea of a foreign coach coming in and at least trying to get us to play in a completely different way, but I'd also be fully prepared for it to be something that might take 2-3 seasons to come to fruition. If the club is at risk of missing top 4 in any season they'll invariably replace the coach so this'll never happen. It's a shitcycle.
Agree
I think if somehow Juve can reduce more cost or increase revenue every season, in 2 or 3 seasons maybe we are ready to at last available for a project that not put an UCL qualifications as a sacred purpose in first season. Look at liverpool with klopp in first season. They don't even qualified to UCL, and the rest is history.

The more time passes, the more i think we should go after Palladino. Far from my first choice but his track record is quite impressive, from what I’ve seen he does intend to make players better and likes fluid attacking football. Might be another Motta, might be just what we need: modern Italian tactician

Agree. Palla's done more in his short career than Comolli in his entire career. Monza flopped this year and Fiorentina had continued success this season with 13M less spent on players. Short leash (contract) until 1-26 at least. Hopefully better than Motta.

I like to know how he got Kean to get 19 goals? Maybe a player we have who similarly hasn't been able to control first touches well and also shoot accurately could begin to score plenty? Only one of Kean's 19 was a PK. Our guy is only 24. Paid a lot for him and will probably lose a lot if he goes.

I like him, I think he is underrated here after doing very well for 3 seasons in a row at 2 very different clubs.

But he's a risk and we probably aren't in the position to take one.

I don’t think he’d do any better than Motta tbh. I actually think we should keep Tudor unless a top manager becomes available. No point risking it again with these sort of inexperienced dudes.

While I agree with what you are saying. It hurts me to know we do absolutely nothing about it.
I mean even if we dont see it our board should be experts and should be able to find one who lifts us up.

My own personal conspiracy:

Momblano was actually right about Pep being close to signing with us, but the deal couldn’t go through for whatever reason.
I also think there’s never just smoke without a fire, but i do believe that Momblano exaggerated and dragged on the rumor beyond any sense of shame, as in we probably tried to inquire about Guardiola and himself also showed some interest but it likely became clear quite early that we won’t be able to reach an agreement that summer due to various reasons and immediately went for the cheaper temu version alternative, but he instead ignored all the denials from other sources and pushed on his narrative almost until the very day we announced Sarri lol

It all dependant on man city being punished by uefa and thrown out the cl for the following season, as Pep supposedly had a clause in his contract that would release him if such scenario occurred.
