Well,let me ask you this.

What did you expect out of Leonardo this year?

They sold their best player in Kaka and basically did nothing to re-inforce the squad, and he has managed to get a decent season out of Ronaldinho.

The average age of that squad is ridiculously high, and he has managed to squeeze everything out of them that he could.

What were the pre-season expectations of this squad. At best, 3rd?? Some prognasticators had them at mid-table, considering what he was left with.

Add in the fact that he works in a pressure cooker in Milan, and it is his first year as a coach.

I think he has done a lot better than what most people expected.

He's young, he's forward thinking, likes to play exciting football, and most importantly to a lot of people here, he is not Italian.
It's hard to say Yes or No for Leonardo.

It's especially hard for a non-Milan fan and not a football expert to answer your questions. The Milan fans, who follow their team every week, can tell us more about Leonardo's tactical awareness, how he reads the game, how he makes the subs and how able he is to change the tactics during matches. But fans are often wrong and they can't see the things an expert eye sees, so we shouldn't take the words of the Milan fans for granted. They don't know how he conducts the preparations, his man management skills etc.
What I believe strongly, and not many will disagree, is that Ronaldinho is the main reason for Milan's (lets call it..) successful season. Now, the question is how much Leonardo has to do with Ronaldinho's "rinascimento" and how much the fact that Kaka left and the potential of playing at the WC has to do with it.

Leonardo is still an unknown for me. He's charismatic, he's passionate and he looks like someone his players love. Those are positives, for sure. But his inexperience and the relatively short time to judge him as a coach, leaves space for skepticism.

#1) Who wouldn't want Laurent Blanc, but would he be willing to move?
#2) For the most part of the season, I was a huge supporter of Prandelli. His bodly language though for the past couple of months look to me like he has given up, and that isn't something that I would want here. Besides, he's earmarked to be the new NT coach, anyway.

#3) I'm on the fence about Benitez. In my opinion, he is living off of his reputation at this point. And I haven't been a big fan of his recent transfers the past couple of seasons, either.
I completely agree.

Fair enough, but in response to your last statement, every coach starts out with no experience, don't they?
Obviously. And experience isn't even a necessity for me personally (even after the shit we saw earlier this season).

Let me try to clarify it. If you bring in someone with no experience, it should be either a complete outsider or someone with ties to your own club.
Definitely not someone from a direct & fierce rival, since that only complicates matters. Like I said, it only takes 1 or 2 bad results for the shit to hit the fan.

I'm talking about Leonardo.

Any thoughts?

And if you do have thoughts or rebuttals, offer some constructive critique as to why or why not.

Thank You

Leonardo had done a decent Job IMO. And i agree with many of your points.

One thing that i liked about Leonardo specifically this season (and i know many won't agree on this) that he converted Abate from a right-midfielder position to a right Fullback (i had exactly the same thought about the guy when i've watched him with Empoli when he was on-loan there).

The guy has a ridiculous stamina (can run all day long) plus a pretty decent cross on him and i'd say he's "ok" defensively.

I think Leonardo is a pretty decent coach.

Leonardo: if the race is between him and Allegri, I wouldn't mind him. Though I guess we should go for a more proven coach.

Dunga: I think Dunga's 4-2-3-1 is exactly the formation that could get the best out of our current lineup: Gilberto->Momo/PouPou, Melo->Melo, Ramirez->Marchisio, Kaka->Diego, Robihno->Giovinco. And futhermore, I really liked how he managed to combine brazillian flair and italian defensive solidity. But I expect us to buy a couple of wingers during the summer, so Dunga is not my first choice, even though I wouldn't mind him.

Benitez has asked for one month notice, were willing to give only 10 days. Reason? We want to work on the market as soon as possible. First position-Striker.

Multiple Sources.
