I'm sorry I did not turn the sarcasm mode on before posting. I thought it was evident that I think that Prandelli is the most overrated manager on this forum.
I guess I missed it...

Only few rate Benitez here and they know why they are rating him. Many don't rate him because he's Liverpool's manager, no other reason.
:agree: Benitez showed he is a good tactican got Liverpool to one CL success and one Final
in the Premiership he got them where they were expected

If Pellegrini wins them the league, he didn't failed, not at all. Surely they could and should've done a lot better than getting eliminated by Lyon, but it's pretty impossible to win in Europe with team that's playing together for first year. Even if you have the players Madrid have, in CL the small details matters.
He is not failed in my opinion too. But RM somehow can see it differently. Even Capello and Schuster gave them the La Liga championship and still get the sack. I see Pellegrini will be get the sack in the end of the season. There is lot of Mou rumors go there lately. And if Mou fail again to win the CL, he might look some experience go to RM.. Not to mention that Mou always has bad relationship with Italian media.

So if Benitez can't come because Pool not fired him. I think it will be great too if we can look for Pellegrini

I was laughing at Fred's comment. Even if they win La Liga he failed in Madrid. So what if he's first?

CL is what counts for them and all that money that went down the drain.

Still, that doesn't have to mean that Pellegrini is a bad coach. Real is just :howler:
its ok, i got it,i posted to show that someone else found that claim incredible

we all know what Reals objective was,is and always will be

I feel that the opposite is true...that too many people on here rate him because of his champions league success, without having a decent idea of how he has fared over the course of his several several seasons at Anfield. I think to know him, the best position is obviously in England, and following not just the premiership but the news about the premiership that comes thick and fast every day in the press. Also, through word of mouth, through discussions with those closest to the Source, again, in england...for instance if I lived in Spain, I would get a better picture of who he is as a man, and a manager. Not just on results and the odd madrid game I watch or read about.

2 finals with a squad like pool's is a miracle if you ask me. 2 La Liga titles with a team like valencia during madrid's first galacticos era is divine.

I've just been reading about what Rafa said at half time in Istanbul. Apparently he was planning on taking off Traore and bringing both Cisse and Hamman on until someone pointed out that would be 12 players. :D

His spending has been atrocious. He has made one serious challenge to taking the Premiership title, which has been his main aim each season. BOTH champions league efforts of decent value, one of which resulted in victory, were very lucky, in my opinion, and had more to do with luck and team form which was driven and demanded by Gerrard more than Benitez. Of course you can say that Benitiez took some credit for Gerrard's spirit. And also Carragher's. The two main spirited scouse. But they are naturally very spirited...His demeanour has been disgusting. Always red faced and in previous seasons, much more likely to blame mitigating circumstances, than accept culpability for a loss or dire performance. He has LOST almost all 'mind games' with other premiership managers, and others easily get under his skin, and what he shows, in these moments of high irritation, when you see some of a man's true colours, always makes me despise him. For it is far removed from Class. Even when Fergie gets similarly red faced and heads towards buffoonery, he seems to retain a hint of class...an angry little kid, with class to back uo his descent into the puerile abyss. I know of no player who has publically stated that they have improved dramatically and adore playing under Benitez.

He has spent more than any other manager in the premiership since he has been there...that may be wrong. But its my perception. And for what he has spent, he has made literally nothing more than a small passing knock on the door of the premiership, and with this as his main aim, he has failed. And this season, its fallen apart. With players such as Gerrard and Torres in partiuclar. Perhaps no others. Angry, depressed, bitter, and likely thinking that its time to head to a team that is one of the true greats of NOW, not yesteryear, meaning DOMESTIC DOMINANCE, rather than always aiming for 3rd or 4th come the end of the season.

In my mind...its something mad like 200million gold british nuggets spent, with only ONE player of true class purchased. And this player was NOT AT ALL one who Rafa made good. He just bought good. For once. (Torres)

At a club which in recent seasons has shown a devastating lack of footballing intelligence in the transfer market, and even when we do so, we suffer rancidly from other factors contributing to players which were wicked at other clubs, coming to us, and showing piss poor form, Rafa seems an AWFUL choice.

he has NO apparent talent for developing home grown youth, yet we have plenty who have potential. Indeed, just potential...nothing more, nothing less.

Yes, he is about winning. Not a league title, with huge money, but cup competitions. So if that is your main aim. and we have infinite money, why not eh?

But he will never be my choice.

EDIT- By september of 2009, he had spent 220million sterlings. in 5 and 2/3 seasons...20 million on an injured Aquiliani. Indeed. A wise man...though it appears that Chelsea have spent more. But then again, they have won, and challenged year after year for a while, the premiership, whereas Liverpool have not.

Transfer dealings, team selection, his complete nervous breakdown when it comes to mind games; ie his infamous 'fact' madman rant at Fergie. Throw in a poor championship showing outside of his native land and it adds up to more than him being manager of Liverpool.

He went further last season with a weaker team. And got to the semi finals a few seasons ago, he probably should have got to the final but he had the massive choker on his team.
