I'm confused by Buerkedaddy's sudden increase in posting in this thread. You all seem to have a thirst for his Sieman.

Cesare Prandelli refused to speak to the media after today's victory, but Pantaleo Corvino maintains he'll stay at Fiorentina.

The Coach was dismayed when President Diego Della Valle told him to publicly pledge he would not move to Juventus.

“Of course Prandelli will be the Coach next season,” insisted Viola director of sport Corvino after a 4-1 victory over Udinese.

“The words of our patron were of affection towards Prandelli, because he doesn't want to lose him.

“His decision not to speak to the media? That was Prandelli's issue and not that of the club.”

Prandelli also complained that the financial ambitions of the Viola have been scaled down for next season.

“The owners told us that the plans were changing due to financial issues a year ago, not a month ago,” added Corvino.

“Prandelli has always said he wanted to continue with us. I don't know if things have changed or not.

Not as bad as it first sounds, actually the contrary. They're trying to calm the fans while Prandelli is furious. Our chance.

If Prandelli comes here I hope its cos he wants to and not cos hes forced to.

I want him to be ambitious and want to win trophies and not just come here because he was made to leave Florence.

Its kind of like the way Kaka left Milan cos they wanted rid of him and it affected his performances.

Forced to? If he comes here it will because he wants to. Do you think he won't go unemployed or something.

I also think we can get him, even though we don't get CL. Prandelli is a coach that does not mind rebuild, especially with much more perspective than in Fiorentina.

By forced I mean that Fiorentina sack him.

I would prefer hm to leave them by choice because he wants to win titiles.

Moggi: "Allegri is the right coach for Juve" :eyebrows:
prandelli is my fav for the job but i would not be disappointed with allegri's appointment

in the 1st half of the season cagliari were playing some inspired football and hes gotten the best out of the likes of marchetti, cossu and matri

hed still be considered a gamble but knowing that moggi supports this then im all for it

he def emphasizes attacking football way more than the average italian coach

Cagliari boss Massimiliano Allegri has overtaken Cesare Prandelli as the favourite to get the Juventus job this summer.

All the signs point to Prandelli after he refused to be drawn on his future at the weekend despite Diego Della Valle asking him to come clean with the fans.

However, Tuttosport understands that Allegri is more than just a dark horse, citing sources close to Juventus who believe a deal is near.

Italy boss Marcello Lippi, who enjoyed two legendary stints at Juventus, has also reportedly given his backing to Allegri's candidacy, although he also recommended Ciro Ferrara in the summer.

Both clubs have firmly rejected claims that they have come to some sort of arrangement, but Tuttosport believes that such denials are merely a smokescreen designed to protect the players at a difficult stage of the season.

Allegri is likely to be hot property in the summer even if Juventus don't come calling.

Should the Bianconeri hire Prandelli then Allegri would naturally become the favourite for the Fiorentina job.
