Garrone confirms Del Neri exit
Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone has admitted that Gigi Del Neri is leaving and hinted that he will join Juventus as expected.
Earlier today, Sampdoria's departing general manager Beppe Marotta told La Stampa that Del Neri will follow him to Turin, but first he must meet with Garrone.
Such a meeting must have taken place quickly as barely a few hours later, Garrone told Adnkronos: “Del Neri is leaving. I think he'll go to Turin.
“We will release a statement and tomorrow I can hold a Press Conference.”
It's a bitter pill to swallow for Sampdoria who finished fourth in Serie A and qualified for the Champions League.
As for Juventus, the rebuilding process is fully underway both in the boardroom and on the bench.
The next phase will involve bringing in new players after one of the worst seasons on record.
