Del Neri is just a brick in the destructive wall they wanna built in the next season. The foundation was DD running from this junk shit they call the new Juve, then came Ranieri who was a perfect man for a fucked up management, last year with the whole self destructive actions with Ciro of course the cherry was Mr. Zacc.

I wonder how we can be fucked with Del Neri coming, I mean, with a much worse squad then ours (on paper that is), he managed to reach 4th (ok, maybe 5th) place this season while we ... (no need to finish this sentence).

I am not saying there aren't better coaches out there, but which one of those are interested in joining.

For example, DD surely won't be interested in joining as long as the current directores are in charge after what happened when he coached us from serieB back into serieA

I think the fact that we appointed Agnelli as our new Presdent can make him change his mind. :eyebrows:

He can't be successful in an environment where a coach is expected to win. You and I both know that he cannot restore Juve to its pre-Calciopoli glory. Del Neri hasn't done anything incredible with Samp. Italian football is weak and his team struggles to compete in the top 4-5.

What most people dont realise is, the so called lesser coaches like Del Neri have spent a lot of years approaching the game with a totally different mindset. With teams like Atlanta, Chievo and a much lesser extent Sampdoria, your first and only target in the season is to either fight off relegation or secure a respectable top 10 finish. When you dont coach a top club in so long, you dont know what it takes to be successful - be it the level of discipline, the kind of tactics required and the temperament. Being a scudetto contender requires a very different approach than being a relegation struggler. And unfortunately Del Neri has spent a lot more time staving off relegation than fighting for top honours in Italy. Let alone Europe. This is the time to bring in somebody who can implement new ideas and bring out the best of what is currently available and what may be available to us. A decision in haste, only because we cant find anybody, is not doing us any favours. It's short sighted and very disappointing. This appointment is perhaps even worse than Zaccheroni's because it would come with a two year contract and if the papers are to be believed, 80m euros of investment in the mercato. I'd much rather the reins be given to somebody else, even if it means waiting a little longer. The last thing we need is a knee jerk reaction to one alarmingly bad season. Let's not be penny wise, pound foolish. Luciano, please come and save our asses.

Absolutely.

And apart from everything that you mentioned.... :
1. How good is he in preparing a team to play twice a week? Fucked up summer preparations can be equal to disaster. Fitness-wise we were awful this year.
2. How good is he in preparing a team to play for the win on every match and attack instead of playing on counters and be satisfied with a draw?

If we can't answer this questions and we're talking about a 60yo coach, then...well...
