Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings could be out for six months after tearing cruciate knee ligaments.Germany international Frings, 30, suffered the injury during Bremen's pre-season friendly at Paderborn on Tuesday night.
He said: "We had a throw-in. I trapped the ball and turned and got caught in the pitch. I immediately knew something had happened."
The news is a shattering blow to Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf, who told Werder's website: "We are all upset at the moment. Torsten is our most important player and cannot be replaced.
"While it is not yet known how long he will be on the sidelines, a cruciate ligament usually results in an injury break of about six months."
"When things are not going right, things like this happen," commented Bremen director of sport Klaus Allofs.
"We have just got to take a deep breath."
It is the second time Frings has torn knee ligaments, the first coming in 2003 when he was on the books of Borussia Dortmund.
Yeah , that what happened for the players whom tuned down the Juve
