Stars are not usually a guarantee for winning. Look at Barca, they have a lot of big stars and they are a crap team.
:agree: And inter! moRATti bought "stars" for years and his team was still c**p. They only won the scudetto last year by fixing it so that their rivals were unable to win it by imposing penalties via calciopoli.

gd lineup , i would put grygera or sali for zabina .
Id like to see how they play with this formation . I think its very interesting for juve to try out the 4-3-3 , maybe the only weak point is the defensive midfield , there isnt a real destroyer on the pitch so there will probably be defensive problems . I think Nocerino can easilly solve this problem if he comes in for tiago .

Let's just hope he will stay injury free this season cuz we don't much options on the wings.

    Marton Keen To Impress

Marton Fulop is desperate to become Sunderland's first-choice goalkeeper this season and impress manager Roy Keane during Saturday's game against Juventus.

Sunderland take on the Italian giants at the Stadium Of Light tomorrow, in a match which will mark 10 years since the opening of the 49,000-seater stadium.

The game is certain to be one of the biggest ever to be staged on Wearside and Marton Fulop is confident he can better Darren Ward's performances to become first-choice.

Fulop said: "If I play tomorrow, I need to make the most of it.

"I'm ambitious. My aim this season is to play for Sunderland in the Premier League and to be the number one goalkeeper for Hungary.

"I want to show everyone in training and in matches that I'm good enough to be the first-choice goalkeeper at Sunderland."

Despite wanting nothing more than to keep a clean-sheet tomorrow, Fulop insists Juventus are one of his favourite teams.

"Juve are very popular in Hungary and they are one of my favourite teams.

"Some of their players in the past have been unbelievable and I have great resepect for [Gianluigi] Buffon [Juventus 'keeper].

"Juventus will be a great game. We will respect them but we don't fear them. We want to win."

“To mark the fact that the Stadium of Light has been open for 10 years now, it was only right that the club organised a game against top-class opposition and they don’t come much bigger in football than Juventus.”

    Chops in Light show

MICHAEL CHOPRA is looking forward to making his first appearance at the Stadium of Light in a Sunderland shirt this weekend.

Former Newcastle man Chopra, who joined Sunderland for £5m from Cardiff City last month, is hoping for one last chance to impress boss Roy Keane before the Premiership kicks off next weekend, with the Black Cats preparing to take on Italian giants Juventus tomorrow in their final pre-season friendly.

Chopra scored the first goal of his Sunderland career in Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Galway United in the last match of the club’s tour of Ireland.

The 23-year-old hit 22 goals in the Championship for Cardiff last season, and he is confident that he will get goals for Sunderland in the top flight.

He said: “It will mean a lot to me to get the season under way and start playing again.

“When the season finished at Cardiff, I had scored 22 goals and I was desperate to get back in the Premiership.

“Thankfully, the opportunity to join Sunderland came along and I jumped at the chance and now I can’t wait for the season to start because I’m confident I can get goals in the Premiership.

“The Juventus game is the last chance for players to stake a claim for a place in the side for the first match against Spurs and hopefully I will be involved tomorrow.”

Chopra has played – and scored – at the Stadium of Light for both Newcastle and Cardiff, but the former England Under-21 international insists that, now he is a Sunderland player, he will be fully committed to the cause.

He said: “I know as a former Newcastle player I will have to win over the Sunderland fans, but I can assure them that I will give 110% every game.

“I’ll wear my heart on my sleeve and do everything I can for the club.

“Because it’s not very often a man like Roy Keane and a football club like Sunderland comes in for you.

“You can’t really turn down a proposition like that.

“It is a great honour to find that someone like Roy, with all he has achieved in the game and the great players he has played with, rates you highly enough to sign you.”

Bit too attacking imo, but still nice. I'd replace Tiago with Zanetti/Nocerino.
